Retroid hath announced a successor to its original Pocket Flip handheld with the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, and it shall be available for purchase sometime this vernal season. This diminutive marvel doth appear to be a wondrous choice for indulging in thy beloved retro titles whilst on the go, although it doth lack a secondary screen for DS games.
The genesis of this handheld was first proclaimed by Retroid upon its Discord platform, with a render that doth evoke memories of the illustrious GameCube. From the regal purple shell, reminiscent of the original indigo hue, to the radiant yellow stick gracing the right-hand side, this device doth exude an air that beckons forth visions of the iconic “Super Mario Sunshine” gracing its display.
The Pocket Flip 2 doth elevate its predecessor by bringing the face buttons and joysticks into closer proximity. Of paramount importance, Retroid hath forsaken the dreaded joystick sliders that didst vex many a fan, replacing them with recessed joysticks. Furthermore, the speakers hath been strategically repositioned to escape the clutches of thy hands whilst partaking in gameplay, a vast improvement over the initial model.
Alas, the details of the Pocket Flip 2’s specifications remain shrouded in mystery, with nary a whisper from Retroid to enlighten us. Yet it is reasonable to assume that this device shall handle retro emulation with aplomb, mayhap even accommodating a smattering of more modern titles without breaking a sweat.
As we bide our time in eager anticipation, awaiting further tidings from Retroid, perchance closer unto the eve of its release. For those already in possession of a Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or akin handheld, the Retroid may proffer naught novel. But for ye who seek a fine on-the-go option sans the weighty toll upon thy purse, the Retroid doth promise a genial welcome.
The render hast unveiled the top-half of yet another handheld, a tantalizing glimpse of a forthcoming addition to Retroid’s illustrious repertoire. Whilst the company hath deigned not to utter a word regarding this creation, its mere presence hath stirred the cauldron of speculation among the masses.
