Nevertheless, another act stole the spotlight in the eyes of many spectators, garnering praise that some felt surpassed that of the crowned champions.
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong hath etched their names in the annals of history by becoming the first all-Black pair to grace the finale stage of “DWTS.” In a heartfelt tribute to their heritage, they delivered a freestyle performance that captivated not only the audience but also the discerning judges, earning them a perfect score. Fans, moved by their artistry, rallied on social media in a grassroots campaign to propel them to triumph. Alas, their valiant efforts led them to claim the honorable third place.
Initially, it seemed as though Chandler and Brandon faced formidable odds. Strife between Chandler and Carrie Ann Inaba had brewed throughout the season, with viewers perceiving a sense of unjust treatment towards Chandler, who was held to an unreasonable standard. An attempt was made to alter this narrative as the show had Carrie Ann offer praise for Chandler’s journey prior to her final performance, yet the die had been cast.
When the final verdict was delivered, a chorus of discontent echoed across social media, with many attributing bias and prejudice to the outcome of “DWTS” Season 33. To fervent supporters of Chandler and Brandon, it was evident that they were, at the very least, a close second, if not the rightful victors.
