Delay of Frostpunk 2 Launch
Verily, 11 bit Studios hath postponed the release of Frostpunk 2 from July 25 unto September 20. The developers, in their wisdom, hath taken this decision after receiving feedback from a beta conducted earlier this year. While the beta did receive favorable reviews, with an average player rating of 8 out of 10, 11 bit Studios hath deemed it necessary to rework certain features based on the feedback received, thereby requiring more time for the same.
Improvements in the Offing
The esteemed game directors of Frostpunk 2, Jakub Stokalski and Łukasz Juszczyk, hath expounded upon the improvements forthcoming in a Steam blog post announcing the delay. Among these improvements are the addition of "direct-use abilities," the ability to reshape districts post-construction, a new strategic resource for city-building, enhancements to heat, faction, workforce management, and protest systems, and more.
Enhancements Expected
Majestic improvements await Frostpunk 2 in terms of user interface and general user experience. These include a clearer and more intuitive heads-up display, a dedicated construction menu, new city hubs, and improved readability of the Idea Tree. A novel feature called "Zoom Stories" shall be introduced, not present in the beta, allowing players to zoom into various parts of the city to observe its inhabitants at their labor.
New Release Date and Platforms
As per the decree of 11 bit Studios, Frostpunk 2 shall now grace the PC realm on September 20. It shall be available on PC Game Pass from the very day of its release, with console versions for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 also in the works, set to launch on a date yet undisclosed in the annals of time.
