Ark: Lost Colony Trailer Teases Connection to Ark 2 Development

To be or not to be, that is the question. Ark fans, fear not, for the sequel to the beloved game is still in the works. A glimpse into the future comes from an unexpected source – a new trailer for Ark: Lost Colony, the forthcoming expansion of Ark: Survival Ascended. This teaser offers a peek into the evolving storyline and sheds some light on the much-awaited sequel.

“Confront the demons of Arat Prime – the birthplace of the ARKs – in ASA’s monumental canonical expansion pack, Ark Lost Colony! Featuring Michelle Yeoh as Mei Yin in cinematic anime sequences by the famed Japanese studio Mappa, the grand narrative of Ark Lost Colony bridges the gap from Ark Extinction to Ark Genesis and leads you into the realm of Ark 2,” proclaims the description.

The description does not exaggerate on the excitement. The battle scenes are reminiscent of action-packed anime, a trademark of Mappa – known for works like Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. Although the trailer lacks gameplay footage, the mention of Ark 2 brings reassurance.

The latest mention of the sequel dates back to August 2025, when Xbox teased a playable demo. Sadly, the demo was swiftly retracted, denying players a chance to experience it. Five years have passed since the initial announcement of Ark 2, and despite Studio Wildcard’s tight-lipped nature, this new trailer hints at its continuous development.

May fortune smile upon Studio Wildcard, granting them the opportunity to unveil more about Ark 2 in the near future.
