Microsoft is one of the largest technology companies in the world, and one of its most popular and well-known products is the Xbox series of video games. The latest generation of the console released is the Xbox Series, which comes in X and S versions.
The X and S consoles launched in 2020 face strong competition from other brands, such as Sony, with the PlayStation 5.
Therefore, the company has been working to develop product updates and improve its components to benefit the public, ensuring quality and improving the player experience.
Thus, listening to the demands of its consumers and the criticisms of the last generation console, Microsoft announced the new Xbox Series S Carbon Black.
New Xbox Series S model announced
During the most recent edition of the Xbox Game Showcase 2023, which took place last weekend, Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced a new Series S model to the public. Later this year, the Xbox Series S Carbon Black, an improved edition of Microsoft’s successful console, will hit the market.
Apparently, not only will gamers benefit, but the company will also increase its credibility in the market by investing in solving the “defects” that they complain about so much. One of the main complaints is the limited internal storage.
With games becoming increasingly more elaborate and full of heavy graphics, it is difficult to have a range of titles on a console with only 512 GB of memory. Therefore, there will be an expansion in the new configurations.
Differences between Series S and Carbon Black
Check out the company’s statement about the new product:
“This console features the same next-generation speed and performance as our 512GB S Series, now with twice the storage so you can download even more of your favorite games to your console, where they’ll be ready to play whenever you want.
Plus, you’ll get the most out of every minute of gameplay with features like Quick Resume, incredibly fast load times, and gameplay at up to 120 FPS, all powered by the Xbox Velocity Architecture.”
In other words, Carbon Black has basically all the same settings as the old one, however, its storage will be 1TB (terabyte), double the previous one. In addition, the new version has a black design for those who no longer want a white console in their setup.
The Xbox Series S Carbon Black will launch on September 1st, and is expected to cost $349. Excluding taxes, which have not yet been revealed, it will be cheaper than buying the standard Series S plus a 512GB external memory.
