‘Mortal Kombat 12’ Reboot? Creator Releases New Teaser

“Mortal Kombat” is one of the biggest action game franchises of all time. The game series is a favorite among the public and a new revelation may be coming soon.

Ever since its last release, 2019’s “Mortal Kombat 11,” fans have been eagerly awaiting news. But that wait may finally be over.

New ‘Mortal Kombat 12’ teaser

Yesterday morning (10), a teaser was released on Twitter by one of the creators of the franchise and creative director of NetherRealm Studios, Ed Boon, which seems to indicate something about the new game.

It had already been announced that “Mortal Kombat 12” would be released later this year. Therefore, with each new development, fans are extremely excited.

The video is only a few seconds long, but it has generated countless speculations about trailer dates, release dates, and even the game’s story.

The short clip shows a wall clock and the camera follows the second hand from 9, which, when it reaches the number 11, becomes frozen, until a special effect happens and the hand jumps directly to the number 1, without passing through 12.

The creator also asks: “Does anyone know what time it is?” As we can see, the minute hand remains at number 9 and the hour hand is fixed at 12. Thus, based on the publication, the community quickly developed theories about the little information that can be gleaned from the images.

Theories about the game

First it is believed that the new game is a rebootthat is, a new story unrelated to the previous title, since the pointer jumps from 11 to number 1, which suggests a new beginning and not a continuation. There is, therefore, the possibility that the franchise returns to the first game, from 1992.

Some netizens claim that the marked numbers could indicate release or announcement dates. If so, there are a few possibilities that can be explored.

One of them is that the game’s premiere or that of some official trailer would take place on 11/1 (which would be the 11th month), or even on the 5th, since, on a clock, the numbers that count the minutes jump at intervals of five.

Thinking along these lines, we would have a pattern of indicating the month first and then the day. However, we know that, in the case of a trailer, it would be too late for a release this year.

Then, other fans say that the order refers to the day and then the month, which means that even today (11) new news about “Mortal Kombat 12” may emerge, which is likely, according to Ed Boon’s comment.
