A social network inspired by 3D avatar announced the expansion through a post on its official blog on 9/15, marking the launch of the first augmented reality Meta Horizon for handheld devices and web browsers in the early access period.
Currently, the only game available on the platform is “Super Rumble”, a game that appears to be FPS style, in which groups of two to six players engage in a frenetic confrontation, with matches lasting five minutes. The goal has already announced that new games and virtual universes will be gradually made available in the months to come.
In this initial release, only a limited number of users will be able to access Horizon Worlds in the browser or from the Meta Quest mobile app Android. The version iOS should be released in the coming weeks.
By making Horizon Worlds available on more devices, Meta plans to make the experience accessible to a wider audience. While the company has not publicly released data on its monthly active players, a report from The Wall Street Journal in October last year suggests the number was less than 200,000.

It is important to highlight that, although Meta’s expanded universe is only accessed in specific countries, including Canada, France, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, expansion to other regions is a goal to be achieved in the future.
As virtual reality is the likely future of humanity in the coming years in the area of technology, this change reflects the commitment of Goal in making the metaverse a more accessible and open reality to a wider audience, regardless of the devices they use.
