How to launch Warzone 2 nuke and destroy Al Mazrah?

The existence of the Warzone 2 nuke was initially just speculation, but it didn’t take long for players to discover that by winning five battle royale matches in a row, they would get a chance to devastate Al Mazrah. Even after completing this impressive feat in Warzone 2, you’ll still have to run around to collect the radioactive elements with a large target painted on your back as you attempt to complete the Champion’s Quest to weaponize the bomb and trigger Armageddon. If you’re wondering what steps are necessary or if you think you have the skills to undertake it on your own, here’s what you need to know about triggering the Warzone 2 nuke.

How to get Warzone 2 nuke

If you want to get the Warzone 2 nuke, there are a number of difficult steps, which we will summarize below:

  1. Earning five Warzone 2 back-to-back battle royale matches
  2. Start new Champion’s Quest contract appearing in next match
  3. Collect all three of the nuclear elements shown on the map
  4. Survive long enough for the bomb site to appear
  5. Place nuclear elements and weaponize Warzone 2 nuclear bomb
  6. Defend the nuclear bomb for the two-minute countdown to detonation

Yes, you read that right – you’ll need to secure a five-game winning streak in battle royale before you can start receiving the Warzone 2 nuke, which is impressive enough in itself. Once you’ve done this, you’ll receive a notification on your Warzone 2 map that the new Champion’s Quest is available, marked with a golden WZ icon, on your next visit. When the Champion’s Quest begins, you will be tasked with assembling the nuclear bomb and destroying the battlefield starting with finding the three nuclear elements. Over time locations of Beryllium, Plutonium, and Tritium will spawn for you to collect, but keep in mind that the following effects will be triggered as soon as you collect them:

  • Beryllium – activates the monitoring device
  • plutonium – causes radiation damage
  • tritium – confuses the radar

While the tracker shows your location to all other players with the Most Wanted golden crown icon, radiation damage gradually injures you over time, and radar clutter makes it much more difficult to see what’s going on on your tactical map. In the end, the bomb zone will appear when the device is dropped from a passing plane, and then you need to go there and drop all three nuclear elements. Finally, interact with it to deploy the Warzone 2 nuke, then defend for two minutes until it reaches the detonation point.

If you manage all of this somehow, Champion’s Domination victory will be yours, as illustrated in the clip above claiming Al Mazrah’s “first” nuclear annihilation. It seems there is no easy way to detonate the Warzone 2 nuke, so know that if you can complete this challenge then you are truly an elite player and deserve the title of Warzone Champion.
