How to get V Rising Whetstones

V Rising Whetstones are an essential crafting equipment, a special resource that is not particularly easy to find, but still required for certain early/mid game crafting recipes. You can actually craft your own Ball Stones, but making it requires a bit of setup to find the crafting recipe – or you can go hunting in specific locations to get them. We’ll explain both ways how to get Marble Stones in V Rising, including finding and crafting them yourself.

There are two known ways to obtain Marble Stones in V Rising, described below.

1. Find Sharpening Stones in major bandit camps and areas
2. Make your own Ball Stones using an Oven and a special recipe

We’ve outlined them in more detail below, so either click on these options or scroll down to see more! Sharpening Stones are a surprisingly useful resource used to craft a variety of weapons and items, as well as certain building items such as the valuable Grinder – so acquiring Sharpening Stones is an essential move if you’re looking to upgrade your castle and overall tech tree. Get everything right and you can have a steady supply of Ball Stones constantly churning in your own castle, using Stone Dust and Copper Ingots as fuel – but to do that, you’ll need to set up some special gear first.

Where to find Whetstones

Sharpening stones can also be found around the world in certain bandit camps and enemy areas, so you can just go hunting and find them organically. Hovering the mouse over the marked areas will reveal what you can find there, and some will have Sharpening Stones marked. Of course, if you want a specific place to look, we recommend heading to the Bandit’s Armory, a large area on the west side of Farbane Forest. Kill all the small enemies in the area, break all the barrels and search all the chests – you will find at least a few Ball Stones scattered around. Also here’s something else you can do to get a Whetstone recipe – but you’ll need to be at a pretty high level.

Sharpening Stone recipe location for making Bake Sharpening Stones

At this point in your progression, you’ve probably already set up a Furnace at your base (if you don’t have it, you should) and when you interact with it, you may find that there is actually a recipe for Marble Stones! The problem is that while you can see the recipe and the essentials, technically you don’t have the recipe yet and you can’t make your own until you find that particular plan.

This recipe is actually held by a boss named Armor Grayson, which you can track down from your Altar of Blood – waiting in an open area until the aforementioned Bandit Armory. She’s level 27 and pretty tough, she uses traps and melee attacks, but those who are agile and her gear level should not have too much trouble. When he dies, drain his blood and return the Whetstone recipe to your Furnace.

At this point, you can use the recipe to create a whetstone with the following ingredients. From the furnace, you’ll now have a chance to automatically create them, assuming you have the power to keep it going.

• Copper Ingot (1)
• Stone Powder (12)

Stone Dust is not easily obtained, but there is actually a great method – create Stone Bricks and Stone Dust is created as a twig!
