The Monster Hunter Rise Transcendent Rhino is an incredibly rare insect that can only be found in the Flooded Forest in Sunbreak, lurking in the swampland during Master Rank quests and expeditions. In fact, it is a rare account item based on an upgraded version of Shining Rhino – we’ll explain it in more detail below. Read on for the exact locations of the MH Rise Transcendent Rhino in Sunbreak below, and why the in-game map can be a little tricky when it comes to finding them.
How to get Transcendent Rhino in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
The Transcendent Rhino in MH Rise is found with the following steps:
one. Go to the Flooded Forest in any Master Rank quest or expedition
2. Go to the marked areas above and find each “Unique Item: Shining Rhino”, the golden beetles that always cling to the tree trunks.
3. Interact with the Shining Rhinos and each will have a chance to become a Transcendent Rhino added to your inventory.
4. Go to the next location and harvest. After five minutes, the Rhinos should respawn, allowing you to make another attempt.
The probability of each Shining Rhino being Transcendent is roughly one-third in our own experience, so you may need to try a few before you find even one. Also noteworthy is that the Rhino at the top of the temple in the southeast of the map is behind a broken wall that would require an explosive barrel to break. Without one, there’s no way to get to the bug inside.

Transcendent Rhinos do not produce materials or resources such as the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Supple Piel, they are Account Items that give the player Kamura Points – 650.
More importantly, they are an essential part of certain side quests, so there is a demand for them. An enhanced version of King Rhino featured prominently in the Monster Hunter Rise King Rhino, Rock Roses, and Bismuth Prism questlines, but exclusive to Master Rank missions in the Sunbreak DLC.
