Players can find V Rising Iron in certain key areas of Dunley Farmlands and the Cursed Forest, but getting to it is not easy. Iron is a useful mid-game resource for both personal equipment and building your Stronghold, but it’s surprisingly rare compared to other materials like copper and must be mined in the form of Ore before turning it into Ingots. Either way, you’ll need this if you’re going to develop your strength as the ultimate night survivalist, so we’ll explain exactly how to get Iron in V Rising below, both Iron Ore and Iron Ingots.
Iron in V Rising is most easily obtained in the Haunted Iron Mine in South/central Dunley Farmlands, but players can sometimes find ore veins dotted around the Farmlands and later in certain areas on the East side of the Cursed Forest. However, we recommend going to the Iron Mine (pictured on the map above) because it’s more abundant and the enemies are less deadly there overall. Try to be at least level 35 before you go here, or you might regret it.
Be careful though – Undead Commander roams this area, a level 49 boss that could be deadly to any player below this level. However, like many bosses he’s relatively slow, so if you spot him, turn in the opposite direction and sprint away in wolf mode – you should lose before long.
Once in this area, you can obtain Iron Ore either by mining it from rocks or as a rare drop from chests and enemies. Warning though – If you use any Merciless Copper weapon, you can only extract Iron Ore from rocks. It doesn’t have to be a Mace, but obviously this is the most efficient. Craft a Brutal Copper weapon before you leave to go to the mines and you’ll be ready to tap into various Iron deposits and veins for ore. And as a vampire, tapping veins for iron-based resources is something you definitely need to get used to.
Once you have Iron Ore, you can turn it into Iron Ingot in your Furnace, but you will need a recipe to make it. This recipe was dropped by the boss Quincy the Bandit King, a level 37 enemy at the Bandit Camp on the northern border of Farbane Woods, so be sure to kill him first.
Once you have the recipe, bring it back to your Furnace where you will be able to melt every 20 pieces of Iron Ore into a single Iron Ingot. Ingots are an important mid-game resource used to build new armor, weapons, structures, and even an ominous throne for your Stronghold.
