How to find God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed?

Both God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed halves are located in the Bounty Bay area of Svartalfheim, and getting both halves unlocks the realm journey and battle trials to the Crucible. Half of the broken Muspelheim Realm seed can be found early, but the second part that completes it cannot be found until later in God of War Ragnarok. Once you’ve acquired both seed halves, you’ll be able to complete battle trials in the Crucible to unlock armor, rare upgrade materials, and more – crucial to maximizing your gear. Here are all the details on how to find both parts of the God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed and use them to reach the Crucible.

God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed locations

There are two God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed halves for players to find, and both are in the Bounty Bay area north of Svartalfheim. They’re not close together though, and separated by story events, and you have to find every single piece with God of War Ragnarok special gear.

You can find each half of the God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed here:

  1. First Muspelheim Seed Halves It’s on the West side of the Bay, just north of Modvitnir’s Gear, and you’ll likely find it during In Service of Asgard Favor shortly after the God of War Ragnarok waterwheel block puzzle. Climb the wharf and wooden structures and you’ll reach a platform with several Wild Wretches with a giant crane in front of you. In full view, the Legendary Chest contains the first half of the special Yggdrasil Seed to Muspelheim.
  2. Second Muspelheim Seed Half cannot be obtained until you obtain the Spear of Draupnir in the campaign. Head to Dragon Beach on the east side of the bay and dock your boat. Climb to the North pier via the hanging chain, then use the Draupnir at the windhole to create a ledge to climb on. From here, head inward and turn north from the statue to the cave system known as Alberich Hollow. To the right is a legendary chest covered in ragged gold material – use the nearby Fire Grenade dispenser to blow up the gold and reach the chest for the second Seed half.

Of course, while you’re in the Bay, don’t forget to grab a few God of War Ragnarok Treasure Maps available in the area to make your trip that much more profitable.

How to get to Muspelheim?

Crucible challenges

You can visit the Crucible with the full seed and participate in the God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim challenges and battle trials.

Once you have both halves of the Muspelheim Seed, you can access the Crucible by going to any Mystic Portal, selecting Muspelheim from the available Realms, and then going to the Crucible in the northwest corner of the map. This will allow you to operate the gauntlet and earn its special rewards by completing a series of combat challenges.

Then, once you reach a certain point in the main campaign, about two-thirds of the game, you’ll travel to other parts of the realm (if you’re wondering how long that takes, check out our How tall page. The God of War is Ragnarok).

How can I get all God of War Ragnarok Realm Seeds?

Other God of War Ragnarok Realm Seeds are awarded to the player at key moments in the story, so only the Muspelheim seed is optional. But once the campaign is over, you’ll receive a bag of seeds used to unlock most of the Mystic Gateways you missed, allowing you to travel to otherwise inaccessible areas much faster. We have a pretty spoiler-heavy God of War Ragnarok ending explainer that covers that and a few other things that happen when the credits arrive.
