The Disney Dreamlight Valley fast-track using Wishing Wells is great for traveling the world, but you’ll need to unlock it properly by completing the ‘Friendship is Everything’ quest. The methods of efficiently navigating Disney Dreamlight Valley are quite limited at first, especially when you find that you can’t sprint and can only fast travel to one spot. In your first few hours, you’ll be able to quickly teleport between Wishing Wells using just the map and switch to Realms using the Dream Castle. Here’s what you need to know about unlocking and using these fast travel methods in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to use Wishing Wells for Disney Dreamlight Valley fast travel
To fast travel using Disney Dreamlight Valley Wishing Well, you must first make sure it is active. Active wells are marked with a purple icon on the map and appear clean, unaffected by black magic, and not covered with wooden boards. If you have active wells, you can quickly go to the well by clicking the relevant icon on the map. Clicking on the icon will immediately teleport you to the well of your choice. Besides being able to only travel to active wells, there are no other restrictions – you can return to a well from anywhere and at any time, but some missions may temporarily block fast travel.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to fully access the Wishing Well fast travel option until you visit a Realm and receive a quest called ‘Friendship is Everything’ from Merlin. To complete this quest and unlock the Wishing Well fast travel, you need to:
- Reach Friendship Level 5 with three different Disney villagers.
- Talk to Merlin again.
- Collect the Friendship Orb from thorns and place it in the Column nearby.
- Talk to Merlin at Peaceful Meadow Wishing Well.
To obtain the Orb of Power, you will need to solve three Disney Dreamlight Valley Mystical Cave puzzles.
Placing the Amity Orb on the Pillar clears the area of black magic and makes the well safe, but it is severely damaged. Merlin will also enchant some repairs, so it will allow you to use the well for fast travel. Each of the eight areas in Dreamlight Valley has its own well, and you need to follow roughly the same procedure outlined above: take the area’s corresponding sphere and place it in the column to clear the well. However, Scrooge McDuck and his money-saving quirks mean you’ll have to pay a fee to repair a well to use for fast travel from now on – where’s Merlin’s magic when you need it?!
How to use Dream Castle for fast travel to Disney Dreamlight Valley
The second fast travel method is to use the Dream Castle. As with Wishing Wells, you can click on the Dream Castle icon on the map just above the main plaza area, but you can choose from a list of places to teleport. This includes any Wishing Wells you’ve restored and any Disney Realms you’ve unlocked in the Dream Castle. Note that you cannot travel from Realm to Realm, so you must return to the Dreamlight Valley main world and use Dream Castle again to travel elsewhere.
Access to Dream Castle is granted fairly early as part of the quest ‘The Dream Castle’; During this time you will also receive the Disney Dreamlight Valley Royal Tools. Here’s what you need to do:
- Meet Merlin at Dream Castle. He will explain that you need to collect Dreamlight. – A currency earned by completing challenges and quests to remove Night Thorns from the castle.
- Collect 2,000 Dreamlights and return to the castle.
- Spend Dreamlight to eliminate Night Thorns and open the inside of the castle.
- Enter inside the Stronghold and choose your first Realm.
Once the castle is unlocked, you will now be able to use the Wishing Well and Realm fast travel abilities in Disney Dreamlight Valley by clicking the map icon.
How to move faster in Disney Dreamlight Valley
While Disney Dreamlight Valley travels fast, it unfortunately lacks any sprint buttons to increase your movement speed. However, you can get a temporary Well Fed bonus that lets you move roughly 15% faster. This boost activates when your Disney Dreamlight Valley Energy bar is overfilled after you’ve had a hearty meal.
