The Elden Ring Alexander questline starts off with seeing you jump all over the Lands In-between to help this round mega-jar and give it a good smack and set it free. If you continue to assist Alexander in his Elden Ring quest, you will travel to Caelid, Liurnia and beyond. Eventually, the warrior jar will reward you with two Talismans that increase the power of your weapon skills, and more. Elden Ring Iron Fist Alexander questline guide
The Alexander quest in Elden Ring is quite long and involves you going to many different places. This quest can be started within the first hour of the game, but you won’t be able to reach some of the necessary places to reunite with the pot boy until later in the game. Here is a map of all the places where you should meet Alexander to further his quest. Below that, you’ll find a step-by-step breakdown of each stage of the quest, including what you need to do, though usually only for consuming Alexander’s dialogue.
- Release Alexander from the ground near Saintsbridge: Alexander can be found very early in the northern part of Limgrave near the Saintsbridge Grace District. Follow the calls for help and you’ll eventually find him pinned to the ground on a cliff. Talk to him and he will ask you to give him a punch (hit him in the back with a gun) to free him. Consume Alexander’s dialogue and he will tell you about Redmane Castle in Caelid.
- Reach the bottom of the Gael Tunnel: You will find the entrance to this mining dungeon in Caelid. Continue on your way and go down to find a tunnel with a closed wooden door at the end. Open the door to reveal Alexander, then go through all the dialogues to move forward.
- Meet Alexander at Redmane Castle: Head to the castle in South Caelid and there you will find Alexander as one of the festival NPCs – remember that you can actually skip the first two steps and start Alexander’s quest there. Talk to the Pot and once you know how to defeat Radahn in the Elden Ring you will be able to summon him, then you will be able to talk to him again after Radahn dies and rests in the Field of Blessing.
- Alexander free again in Liurnia: Head to the Divine Tower in eastern Liurnia and you’ll find Alexander stuck in the ground to the south again. To unleash it this time, you’ll need an Oil Pot, a craftable item, and the recipe can be obtained from one of the Elden Ring merchant locations in the Siofra River. Consume Alexander’s dialogue after you free him. At this stage you can also go to the nearby town of Jarburg and talk to Jar Bairn, who will appear later.
- Find Alexander bathing in lava: From the Seethewater Termius Grace Zone on Mount Gelmir, head southwest to the lava pools. After dealing with a Magma Wyrm boss, you will be able to reach an island where you can talk to Alexander. After consuming this dialog, you will be able to summon him again in the Fire Giant boss fight.
- Find Alexander in the Shattered Farum Azula: Head to the Crumbling Farum Azula and use the Elden Ring Stonesword Keys to open a path to the Dragon Temple Lift. From here you will be able to see an accidental bridge of ruins. Turn left and then right until you reach the ruins. Jump over them until you find Alexander on a section of the bridge.
- Battle with Alexander: Talk to him and you will learn that he wants to fight a warrior as great as you. If you keep talking, you’ll admit the ordeal he went through to start the fight. Unfortunately, you have to beat the iron-fisted pot, so even if you die, you can still keep challenging it over and over until you finally break it. Talk to him and he will grant you Alexander’s Inner Entities and the Alexander Talisman Fragment as he dies. You can also collect the Warrior Jar Shard Talisman from his body after he dies.
- Back to Jar Bairn in Jarburg: New for the Elden Ring 1.03 update, you can go back to Jar Bairn and give them Alexander’s Interiors – probably after having to talk to them a few times – and they’ll give you the Companion Jar Amulet to end the Iron Fist Alexander’s story .
