Here are some basic tips to help you beat the Draconic Tree Sentinel boss fight in Elden Ring:

- Defend against Attack and Lightning damage.
- Summon ranged minions and NPC helpers.
- Use items to support stats and stay on the go.
- Stay on the shield side and avoid the hammer.
- Approach in Stage 2 to stop the lightning strike.
- If all else fails, use the Poison Mist easy cheese method.
To beat the Draconic Tree Sentinel boss fight in Elden Ring, players will need to abandon the shields, play fast and cautiously, and choose their weapons carefully because the Draconic Tree Sentinel has too much resistance and using the wrong type of gear can leave you. shredding small amounts of health rather than dealing any real damage. All of their attacks are massive attacks that can confuse shielded players or completely puncture their defenses, leaving them completely vulnerable to immediate pursuit. Instead of futilely trying to block or deny their hits, you should avoid being hit at all if possible.
Take advantage of Poison and Scarlet Rot, as well as their weaknesses for Str/Thr damage
The Draconic Tree Sentinel is weakest against Strike and Thrusting damage, and Poison and Scarlet Rot struggle to withstand their status effects. Use them if possible! Rot Grease and Poison Grease are definite boons. If you’re using Ashes to summon, you probably want groups of enemies or ranged warriors that Sentinel will fight to hit. Sentinel’s powerful attacks can wreak havoc in a single hard-to-dodge attack, so if you bring in a single melee-focused ally, they’re likely to be crushed before long. The Spirit Jellyfish is actually not bad here, as it floats out of reach and inflicts Venom from a distance.
Use consumables and items to boost your stats and stay away from them
As mentioned, Poison/Rotten Grease is a good item here and try using Godrick’s or Radahn’s Great Rune to boost your stats and health accordingly. Your trusty knight may be quick in a straight line, but he is ruthless at avoiding attacks.
Stay on their shield side in battle and keep your distance from the hammer
As a rule of thumb, you want to stay on the shield side of the Sentinel, as their giant hammer is always on the right. That doesn’t mean they can’t hit you with shields or other attacks, but they’re generally easier to dodge. And as implied, Sentinel’s hammer is devastatingly deadly, but it also has a wide range, and when it hits the ground, a massive shockwave is emitted. You have to put some real distance between you and him to be safe.
It gets worse – the horse can spew fire from its mouth, which spreads down to the ground as it falls down from the breeding. Watch out for the environment – if the fireball hits something it will explode and damage everything nearby. It is possible to dodge only if the fireball hits a rock behind you and catches you in the explosion.
Even so, mages may find this fight a little easier if executed from a good distance. Sentinel does ranged attacks, but they’re not as deadly as melee attacks. It’s always good to stay out of hammer range. If you’re melee oriented and have big guns, try jumping and making heavy attacks. While you can’t take a critical attack from him, you can stun the Draconic Tree Sentinel and use it as a follow-up for more free kicks or to retreat and heal.
Engage in a closer and faster fight in Stage 2 to stop lightning strikes

At tier 2, many of the Dragon Tree Sentinel’s attacks have such a wide range that you can’t get away with them most of the time. Instead, you have to time the dodge’s invincibility squares to match the moment they hit you. It’s not easy, but it’s the best chance you’ve ever had.
If all else fails, use the Poison Mist easy cheese method.
With the right items, the Dragon Tree Sentry can be cheesy – and frankly, we’re not blaming you with this mean-spirited boss. A widely used ensemble method that still works at the time of writing is one that involves Poison Mist, a Spell obtained by killing one of the Teardrop Scarabs in Castle Mone.
After receiving the enchantment, equip it with a Seal (requires only 12 Faiths) and sneak behind the Tree Sentinel without warning or attacking them. Then, simply throw the Poison Mist behind their horses – aside from the obvious potential for humiliating fart pranks, it will poison and damage the Dragon Tree Sentry without warning. So keep doing that and watch the Sentinel’s health drain while you can’t help but wonder why they’re feeling so sick.
They should eventually die, but if you’re having trouble lurking behind them, you can distract the Sentinel with an Ash summons, sneak into their place, exit the game and return to the game. Now the Sentinel alarm will be lifted, your spirit will fade, and you’ll be ready for the fog cheese.
There’s a second Draconic Tree Sentinel in Crumbling Farum Azula, near the finale of the Elden Ring in the game. This Dragon Tree Sentry is more of a mini-boss, a burly foe that exists on the way to the real boss of the area, Maliketh (which we covered in how to defeat Maliketh in Elden). ring guide).
