There are three Horizon Forbidden West war totems to find, leading to a Kratos Eater egg, but these unknown collectibles are hard to find. They’re not named until you find them, and you won’t get anything to guide you through Horizon Forbidden West until you’ve pretty much passed over them – they only appear in your Focus when you get close enough to collect them. Only then will Aloy accept them and make them a tough needle in the haystack to find. If you want to get them all, we have everything you need and locations to find the three Horizon Forbidden West war totems.
Totem of Brotherhood
The first Horizon Forbidden West war totem you can find is actually two-person: God of War’s enemy brothers Brok and Sindri. Conveniently, given that they are blacksmiths, you can find them here on a small island in what looks like a forge:
If you go this way, you will see the small island just off the coast. When you get there, look for a small opening in the floor in a recessed corner. Scan with your Focus and you should see a collectible resource icon. When you get close enough, the totem will be named and you can pick it up.
totem of war and youth
Totem of War is right next to the entrance of the Sunken Cave, which you can find marked on the map. number 1. It’s a two-step path though, and to find it you first have to find an ax stuck in a tree and you can scan it with your Focus. Go here to search:
Check the trees while they ping you Focus and Aloy will finally talk about the ax in a cold tree. Use your focus to pick up the trail and follow it to a familiar looking house where the Kratos totem can be found on one side to the left of the main building.
The final Horizon Forbidden West war totem can be found at number 2 on the map. Look for some school buses in a flat area that was clear to have roads in the old days. There will be a rusty bridge, and above it will be the totem. So ping your focus to find the beacon and go up to get Atreus, the totem of youth.
Horizon Forbidden West war totem reward
Kratos has face paint as a reward for his nearly impossible treasure hunt, which is… nice, I guess? I’m not going to lie, I was hoping for more. You can see Aloy in the image above as she stands outside Kratos’ House.
