Hollow Knight becomes Silksong, we promise. The game was announced years ago, but we finally got an update at this year’s E3 2022 as part of the Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcase. We’ve seen some gameplay and there have been reports that we may be getting a playable compilation of Hollow Knight Silksong within the next year. , but there isn’t much to go on yet.

Xbox has narrowed the Hollow Knight: Silksong release date and confirmed that the long-awaited game will launch before June 2023. Everything featured on the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase June 2022 will drop over the next 12 months, and the game dev has since confirmed that yes, it includes Hollow Knight: Silksong.

With this loose release date, we’ve received confirmation on which platforms Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch. It will be available on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store, along with Nintendo Switch.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will also be a Day One drop for Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One.
Will Hollow Knight: Silksong be on PS4 or PS5?
At this time, Hollow Knight: Silksong is not confirmed to be released on PS5 or PS4.

The two-minute trailer began with the Hornet’s abduction, showing her free to explore lush meadows and damp underground passages. The trailer showed that there are new enemies to conquer, new bosses to fight, brand new friends and NPC characters to meet along the way, and new cities to complete with related quests.
And now we have this second trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong. More gameplay sneak peeks, more bosses and villains, and more from our old friend the Hornet, who was promoted to a playable hero from the original game’s friend and foe.

As for the gameplay of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the only footage we had to extract from the beginning was from the first trailer. Despite being a pure introduction to the sequel, we actually saw a lot of clips of the hero Hornet in action, as he deftly jumps and dodges through his enemies. And now that this has been solidified and built upon by the newer trailer, everything looks incredibly fluid.
It’s clear then that Hollow Knight’s mix of platforming and 2D combat is back for Silksong. In fact, Team Cherry seems to have made platforming with the Hornet noticeably more acrobatic compared to the Knight in the original game: the new hero looks like a gymnast compared to the Knight and takes down large enemies with ease.
Healing also works differently in Silksong than in Hollow Knight. Instead of slowly replenishing his health like the Knight does, the Hornet can instantly heal up to three health nodes, and not only that, he can do it on the go. However, the Hornet has a Silk mistress, and healing three nodes of health immediately drains the bar.

If you’ve played Hollow Knight, you’ll no doubt remember the Hornet, who often appeared before the player character but eventually became their ally. Hollow Knight: Silksong actually replaces the heroes by replacing the Knight with the Hornet for this new adventure.
In this new game, the Hornet finds herself kidnapped and flees to a kingdom called Pharloom. Said to be “haunted by Silk and Song” by developer Team Cherry themselves, Silksong’s basic plan places the Hornet right at the bottom of this new kingdom, giving him the task of climbing to the top of the kingdom and reaching a glowing stronghold. There will also be side quests for the Hornet to take on. These look a lot more lively than the original Hollow Knight, as Silksong actually lets you keep track of all your side quests in a diary. Maybe this is an opportunity to tell more stories outside of Silksong’s main plot.

Hollow: Knight: Silksong originally started development as another DLC episode for the original Hollow Knight. Developer Team Cherry, starring Hornet, quickly realized that the scope of the DLC was much larger than they had anticipated, so they actually made room for a full-blown sequel starring Hornet instead.
Now that we look at the sequel, it’s not hard to see why. The first trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong also boasted over 150 brand new enemies, including new bosses to fight. In fact, there are brand new features for the sequel, such as the ability to craft weapons, tools, and traps from materials collected from fallen enemies.
