Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t have multiplayer but does have a few in-game friends

Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer is unfortunately not an official option in the game. OS, if you’re hoping to explore the wizarding world with your friends, you can’t. Avalanche Software has made it clear from the very beginning that this is a single player game.

There’s a HogWarp mode on PC that adds multiplayer, but that’s currently in early access and only available on the creator’s Patreon. So not for everyone

While this is strictly a single player game, officially you won’t technically be alone as you play with various companions to team up through missions. However, if you want to team up with your friends and explore together, then put aside the mods, there is no such option in Hogwarts Legacy.

From both pre-release developer streams and gameplay demos, it’s always been clear that Hogwarts Legacy was never planning a multiplayer game. The pre-release coverage and FAQ descriptions made it clear that no such functionality was available, and now that the game is out, there is clearly no multiplayer mode.

However, that doesn’t mean you’ll be alone just because you can be friends with other students at Hogwarts. Certain missions will allow you to play together with your in-game friends, with your relationships with these characters evolving throughout the game. Unfortunately, you cannot always ask these comrades to accompany you, as they are limited only to their designated mission.

It may not be quite the same as having real friends with you, but at least you’ll make some friends at Hogwarts and get to know these important characters a little better.
