In the opening act of Black Myth Wukong, thou shalt encounter the Keeper of Black Wind Mountain. In due time, this character shall bestow upon thee the form of a Golden Cicada once thou hast reached the Outside the Forest shrine. Let us ponder upon whether thou canst reverse this transformation and become the Cicada anew in later moments.
Venturing forth into the realm of the Forest of Wolves, thou shalt be transmuted into a Cicada by the dwarf. This artifice, bestowed upon thine self but once, shall enable thee to elude thine adversaries, most notably the Wandering Wight boss ambling within the woods. Alas, once thou hast forsaken the form of the Cicada and returned to thy simian visage, there existeth no recourse to revert back to the Golden Cicada in this moment. I attempted to reawaken at the shrine to no avail, yet one doth hope that this mystical metamorphosis shall be bestowed upon thee in the days to come.
“How might one elude the Wandering Wight in Black Myth Wukong?” thou might ask. Upon encountering the formidable boss, one may find solace in stealth by embracing the guise of the Cicada and maintaining suitable distance. Even after reverting to thine original form, thou canst still bypass the specter undetected. Tarry until the Wandering Wight turneth in the opposite direction, then make haste to the left (refer to yon image above). Take sanctuary within the narrow passageway, and there shalt thou find safety. ‘Twould be prudent to return anon and engage the boss in combat to garner treasures and accolades.
Anon, should one ponder upon how to transmogrify in Black Myth Wukong, though thou canst naught resume the form of the Golden Cicada, there lieth the possibility to procure spells that assume diverse shapes. Embark upon the same path and veer leftward instead of following the trodden road, where thou shalt chance upon a colossal wolf in meditation—Guangzhi (as shown in the first image). Study his patterns of attack, and with persistence, thou may vanquish the boss with but a few attempts, if not upon the first endeavor. Lay claim to his discarded weapon (as depicted in the second image), and thou shalt be endowed with the Red Tides spell. Through this transformation, thou canst embody Guangzhi briefly and wield his techniques of combat.
