‘GTA San Andreas’ fan uses Unreal Engine 5 to improve the game’s graphics; check it out

The game “GTA: San Andreas” did not meet the expectations of the public and specialized critics. In this sense, in an attempt to correct what many consider one of the worst remasters already made, a fan of the game decided to take on the responsibility of creating the remaster that the game deserved.

Fan recreates ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’

The fan posted a video on YouTube and has already reached thousands of people. Since its release, Rockstar’s official revamped version has received a lot of criticism for its low-quality graphics, technical issues and unnecessary additions.

And the fan, known as 12thHour, believes these problems were caused by the company’s choice to hire Grove Street Games, a small development team of just 25 members, who were let go shortly after the game’s release.

In this context, 12thHour decided to step in and create the improvement that, according to him, players deserved. In this attempt, he started by fixing the protagonist, CJ, who was “flawed” in the remastered version. To do this, he used 3D modeling software, Blender.

After rebuilding the game’s iconic Grove Street neighborhood, the fan spent several days carefully recreating the layout, ensuring that every tree, lamppost, and other element was in the correct place.

Additionally, he began remodeling the houses, starting with CJ’s residence, giving them a more realistic look and high-quality textures.

Finally, 12thHour has pulled off an extraordinary take on “GTA San Andreas,” widely regarded by gamers as the remaster the game deserved. The video concludes with a visually revamped recreation of the “here we go again” meme scene.

The project, despite being just a rendered demo and not a playable game, illustrates the potential that could have been achieved with careful and well-executed work.

In this sense, the video demonstrates the love and dedication of players for this iconic game, as well as serving as a reminder to developers about the importance of quality when remaking classic games.
