Goodbye, E3: the most anticipated gamer event says goodbye after more than 20 years!

Recently, on the 12th, Tuesday, the gaming world did not receive good news, this is because the E3one of the most popular events for gamers, has ended.

In a statement released by The Washington Post and made by the president and executive director, Stanley Pierre-Louis, it was stated that, after more than twenty years of holding the event, it has unfortunately come to an end.

The decision was made by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the company that was responsible for organizing and making the attraction possible.

Since 2020, a period in which the pandemic was occurring, E3 began to be postponed. It was believed that the event would take place in 2024, however, thanks to the recent statement, it is safe to say that there is no longer any chance of that.

What led to the closure of E3?

Since 2020, due to the covid-19 pandemic, E3 has been canceled. In the years that followed, those responsible for organizing the event also interrupted the event. The expectation was that in 2023 the event would come to life again, after so long.

However, ESA announced that E3 would be canceled once again, in 2023 and 2024, but there was a good reason: a new innovative project was being prepared by the organization. However, fans would have to wait for two years until everything was ready.

It was then that the latest news arrived, stating that E3 was officially over. What many are unaware of is that the event had faced drastic problems, such as the withdrawal of big names like Microsoft, Nintendo and Ubisoftwho withdrew from participating.

According to the president himself, the main reasons that led to the end of E3 is the increase in independent events from major brands in the sector, the withdrawal of some of them from attending E3 and, finally, the way in which companies started to conduct your business after the covid-19 pandemic.

Without a doubt, this was news that left some fans shaken, as E3 was the stage for several launches over the years, since the first edition in 1995.
