Either way, we’ve got some advice on how to play Fortnite to get you started, and a set of Fortnite tips for everything you need to know before you start playing.
Map
The Fortnite map has changed significantly for Season 2, with several new or updated named locations to visit around the island. The red and blue lines denote areas controlled by the Imaginary Order (red) and Seven (blue), so expect these to change over the course of the season.
Tasks
Fortnite missions are still accessible in various ways from the menu, where you can find the usual Daily Missions, Season Missions with weekly updates, and Milestone Missions with key objectives to keep you busy throughout the season. In addition, Fortnite Device Uplink for Rebuild Missions and Fortnite Omni Chips that unlock new styles for the Omni Sword will be collected.
characters
The island is populated by a number of Fortnite characters, which are NPCs you can interact with to start various activities. Fortnite gold bars can be spent with them to purchase items and services offered by the characters. Characters no longer offer Fortnite rewards, so you’ll need to get them from reward boards.
Weaponry
The weapon pool available in Season 2 has been revised once again, but we’ve got details of all the Fortnite new weapons you can get in-game, including those returned from the vault. You can also buy weapons from certain Fortnite vending machines (but watch out for Fortnite malfunctioning vending machines that drop random items instead), and once you have them, you can heal them using Fortnite weapon upgrade stalls.
crown of glory
There are two ways to get the Fortnite Victory Crown – either win a Victory Royale or eliminate another player who wears it. Carrying the Crown makes it easier for your enemies to spot you, but if you win with it, you’ll earn the Royal Crown Royal Seal and receive a special emote to showcase your success.
wild life
There are various wild animals roaming the island that can help or hinder your progress. Fortnite chickens allow you to soar through the air if you catch them, while Fortnite wolves and Fortnite pigs attack you when they see them, but they can also be tamed to follow you and attack your opponents.
tanks
Fortnite Tanks are the latest vehicles to arrive on the island and are of average power, so if you can take control of one you’ll have a huge advantage. Conversely, if you find yourself fighting against one of these Titans, the Fortnite Anvil Launcher will help you deal maximum damage to take it out.
motorboats
Since there are numerous rivers that cross the island, it makes sense to have a vehicle that can navigate them efficiently. That’s where Fortnite motorboats come in, because not only can they whiz through the water, they can also travel on land thanks to rocket support, and they can also fire missiles!
Cars
If you need to travel somewhere fast, Fortnite cars let you motorbike around the island at top speed. You’ll want to know where to find Fortnite gas pumps to keep you from running out of fuel, and adding some Fortnite all-terrain tires to your vehicle will keep obstacles in your way.
Collected Items
If you’re looking for a quick way to boost your Health or Shield, then consuming Fortnite collected Items might be just the ticket. There are apples, kale, mushrooms, coconuts, corn, bananas and more, each with different benefits.
campfires
If you’re looking for a quick boost, Fortnite campfires can help you when your health is low. We have all the locations where you can light them up and then feed them wood for longer benefits.
Restart the vans
If you’re playing in one of Fortnite’s team modes, such as Duos, Trios, or Squads, elimination no longer means you’re completely out of the game. If a teammate picks up the Reboot Pass that you left before you dropped it and disappeared, they can take it to one of the Fortnite Reboot Vans available at all locations indicated and use it to bring you back into the action. We’ve got all their locations in our guide, but the process will warn all other players around, so get ready for battle.
llamas
If you’re lucky enough to spot a llama piñata during a match, give it a head start on grabbing it, as they are very rare and contain many useful items and resources. They’re also now spawned, so you’ll have to chase them down and deal as much damage as possible before they teleport!
