Video game enthusiasts are also seeing AI entering their daily lives, and Microsoft’s latest announcements may well shake up the way we understand this medium.
Integrated into Windows, the Copilot assistant will soon be able to guide players step by step during a gaming session.
The end of walkthroughs and walkthroughs?
The demonstration was conducted with Minecraft, but we can imagine that eventually all games will be compatible with this function. In the video, we can see that the player can talk to Copilot. The argument is natural, and the Copilot manages to guide the player by giving instructions to open his inventory or explaining what materials he needs to craft a sword. Copilot also manages to detect enemies and give instructions to get out of a dangerous situation.

Microsoft hasn’t announced a release date for this option’s arrival in Minecraft, nor has it publicly shared its goals for a larger distribution. The way Copilot works suggests that it can interfere with any game running on Windows or even an emulator, as the AI analyzes what is displayed on the screen.
Getting in-game help without leaving the game and heading to a third-party platform has become a challenge for the video game industry. Sony has particularly stood out in this area with Game Help on PS5, which allows you to pick up tips provided by developers and quickly get help from the gamer community. However, thanks to artificial intelligence, players will be able to receive personalized help in real time.
