Recently, game fans have become concerned about the possibility of bans being imposed on some titles. This ban could happen mainly due to fake news that spread across the internet after the tragedy that occurred at a daycare center in the city of Blumenau.

As we recently reported, federal deputy Zé Trovão linked the attack on the daycare center to the “violent” games. He even requested that the games be suspended for a period of 30 days in order to investigate whether there was a connection between them and the case.

This request was made even though the official police investigation found no evidence that the killer had been “influenced” by such games.

In fact, the police did not find any connection with any game, so it was not a question related to any genre of games. However, anyone who thinks that this is the first time something like this has happened in Brazil is mistaken. 1. ‘Duke Nukem 3D’

In 1999, another tragedy struck our country. The incident involved the actions of a 24-year-old murderer who was studying medicine at the time. The young man was in a movie theater at Morumbi Shopping in São Paulo when he stood up and started shooting at other people who were watching the film.

His actions left three dead and five injured, and the young man was arrested and sentenced to 120 years in prison. This occasion, in turn, led to the banning of several violent games in Brazil, as it was discovered that the killer liked to play this type of game.

The one he played the most was “Duke Nukem 3D”, which led to the game being banned by the authorities almost immediately.

2. ‘Doom’

Despite this, “Duke Nukem 3D” was not the only game banned as a result of the tragedy. This is because several other violent games or first-person shooters were banned. Including one of the greatest games in history, the great and also controversial “Doom”.
