Diablo 4 will be the first Activision Blizzard game to come to Xbox Game Pass

Diablo 4, the latest game in Blizzard Entertainment’s popular action RPG series, will be available on the Xbox Game Pass service next month. As a reminder, Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard in October for the astronomical sum of $68.7 billion, gaining control of some of the biggest franchises in the industry, including Call of Duty, Warcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo.

However, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said at the time that the deal was a long-term investment and said: Game Pass subscribers shouldn’t expect Activision Blizzard games to flood the service immediately. The Xbox boss explained that he wanted to be honest with fans by telling them that the integration of the two companies would take some time. He announced that Microsoft will respect existing agreements and partnerships between Activision Blizzard and other platforms such as PlayStation and Steam.

Diablo 4 will therefore be a rare exception, as the game was released in May 2023 on various platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. The game was initially exclusive to Battle. service .net came from Blizzard on PC, but was later made available on Steam.

In addition to tonight’s Diablo 4 announcement, Microsoft confirmed it will also offer: Four Xbox exclusive games on other platforms later this year. The company hasn’t specified which games these are, but the general consensus is that they are Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of ​​Thieves, and Grounded. Others will be released on other consoles later.
