Diablo Immortal Shadow Lottery is a special chance and skill based mechanic where players can apply and try for the Shadows faction and from there they can try and apply for the superior Immortals faction. being an “adventurer” by default, neither is easy to get into. The Shadow Lottery is accessible via an NPC in Westmarch, while the Immortals ask you to defeat them. existing Immortal players when you Shadow as part of the Rite of Exile. Whether you join the Shadows or Immortals factions in Diablo Immortal, it’s an incredibly complex process that we’ll explain in more detail below.
The Shadows are the much easier group to get in between, but it will still take some work and luck. As a Shadow, you’ll spend most of your time actively harassing, raiding, or even trying to replace Immortals, and earning bonuses for doing both.
How to play Shadow Lottery and join the Shadows faction in Diablo Immortal
To join Shadows in Diablo Immortal, players must play Shadow Lottery and win multiple levels. Here is the basic process on how to become a Shadow:
one. Reach level 43 and complete the story adventures in Bilefen.
2. Return to Westmarch Tavern at 12:00, 6:00, or 9:00 server time.
3. There is a one-hour period that starts each time you can play the lottery.
4. Talk to the Mysterious Boss to the right of the bartender Bailey.
5. Once the lottery is over, an inbox letter will be sent informing you whether you have been invited or not.
6. If you win, go back to the Mysterious Boss and talk to him to start the Shadow Mettle quest.
7. Talk to Bartender Bailey to get his contract.
8. Enter the Court of Whispers behind the Boss and kill all the enemies in the Blood Trail.
9. Then raid the Vault for Fyggus and collect 30 Essentia from killed enemies.
10. Kill three Ancient Champions for the boss and claim Akeba’s Seal(s).
11th. Present a Seal to the Mysterious Boss when you wish to join the Shadows.
Obviously this is not a simple process and the first Shadow lottery item itself is purely luck based and requires players to repeat it over and over if they want a chance at victory. However, players can try as many times as they want – three attempts per day if they show up at the times mentioned above.
How do you invite players to the Shadows with Akeba’s Signet?
The only other way to join the Shadows without lottery and trials is to be invited by an existing member who can spend a spare Akeba’s Seal to bring the player in. Simply select the character profile and there will be an option to invite. You’ll even get some rewards, including some Diablo Immortal Hilts, for inviting them to the Shadows. Players who want another Akeba’s Signet to invite others can effectively repeat the Shadow Lottery and trial process to get more (no other benefits to existing members), expand Shadows membership accordingly.
Shadows faction perks and rules explained
Joining Shadows comes with numerous perks and benefits that open up opportunities not available to standard Adventurers.
Despite all these benefits, membership in the Shadows is not permanent. Shadows and Immortals are tied to the Strife Cycle, which are game stages that usually last several months and represent the Shadows’ continuous campaign to replace the Immortals. At the end of the cycle, some Shadows may have succeeded in making themselves immortal – all who fail or don’t try are kicked out of the faction and become regular Adventurers again. At this point, you need to start over and reapply through the Shadow Lottery in the next Strife Cycle.
The Immortals are the most powerful faction on any server in Diablo Immortal and are basically unrivaled in power and prestige. Getting into this group can take literally months of preparation and study, so we’ll go over them all in detail below.
How to join the Immortals group in Diablo Immortal?
The cream of the crops, the Immortals are the hardest group to join in Diablo Immortal, a group of elite warriors who gain elite perks for being part of this particular club. The only way to join the Immortals is through membership in the Shadows. We’ll explain the process here:
one. Join the Shadows group as described above.
2. Create a Dark clan with players of your choice.
3. Proceed through the “Stages” of Shadow membership by doing the following in order:
– Planning: Summon 200 Adventurers into the Shadows using Akeba’s Seals
– Gathering: Get 23000 Marks through any Shadow faction event
– Show down: Challenge the current Immortals team to Rite of Exile, a type of 8v8 PvP combat. The top 10 Dark clans on the servers can form teams and challenge the Immortals in these matches, not just those who trigger the Showdown.
Things get different here – if the Shadows win more than half of the Showdown matches, the highest ranked Dark Clan will become new Immortals and existing Immortals will be kicked out and become Adventurers only. This event also ends the Cycle of Conflict and marks the beginning of a new cycle. If Shadows loses half of their Showdown matches, it’s not necessarily over. They enter a new, optional phase called reckoning: That the Thirty Shadows entered the Immortal Struggle and they all fought an Immortal who, just in case, had a giant, stronger version of themselves.

If the Shadows lose the Immortal’s Struggle, the Conflict Cycle begins again with the same Immortals in power as last time. If Shadows wins, all Shadows that won their match in the Showdown become new Immortals in the next Strife Cycle. I’m glad it’s a nice, simple system and not the slightest bit of complexity.
Still, this represents a server-wide milestone – either the Immortals have been replaced or they’ve managed to claim their position for another cycle. Maintaining this position seems a little more difficult than replacing them, but it’s not impossible for either side.
Immortals faction perks and rules explained
Being undead is basically as high as you can go in Diablo Immortal (they named the game after him for god’s sake), and as such, it comes with a myriad of new perks and options to represent you at the top of the food chain.
- Immortals receive special crowns for their highest ranked members this gives them great power-ups. These buffs can be further increased by obtaining a resource called Dominance.
- talking about Domination, this is a unique source of energy this can be obtained through most Immortal-specific events. It is mainly used to increase the power of crowns, but can also unlock cosmetics that are permanent as long as you are an Immortal.
- this Hilts Trader at Westmarch offers more stocks To the Immortals.
- immortals take Unique missions, raids and challenges to earn Essentia – another unique currency – legendary loot and can be stored in a special Vault before being spent to trigger Kion’s Ordeal, a raid that provides massive amounts of Domination.
- Immortals defend the vault It’s where Essentia is held, because the Shadows can try and loot it. If they get past the defense, the Immortals will have to personally defend it.
Some may wonder if Shadows or Immortals are the better faction, but the truth is there is no competition: the Immortals faction is the superior faction you would want to join if possible. As discussed, Immortals represent the highest level of prestige in the game and gain better bonuses and perks than anything Shadows get. The purpose of half the shadow faction be An Immortal, so there are clearly multiple layers at work here. Become a Shadow at the earliest possible opportunity, then if you are truly committed to this game, use it as a springboard to try to become an Immortal yourself.
