The Destiny 2 Shoot to Loot mission is a new add-on as part of the 2022 Guardian Games. Lets you join Quest, Training and Competitive playlists and earn Pioneer Medals for high scores. However, certain aspects of the quest and playlist have time limits, including rewards, which makes it a little awkward to complete. We’re here to clarify the basics to know for the Destiny 2 Shoot to Score mission.
- How to complete the Shoot for Score quest
- Guardian Games: What are Training and Competitive playlists?
- What rewards can you get from the Shoot Score mission?
How to complete the Destiny 2 Shoot To Score quest
The Score Score mission for the Guardian Games 2022 event allows you to earn high scores in the Guardian Games: Education and Competitive playlists to meet certain score thresholds. Crossing these thresholds will allow you to ignite up to four floating torches in the Tower, which will earn you some rewards. To receive the quest, you must pick it up from Zavala towards the end of the Best in Class quest.
Steps one through six of the quest are for week one of Guardian Games 2022, and we’re assuming weeks two and three will have the same steps, so be sure to repeat them each week. Here’s what you need to do to complete the Hit To Score mission in Destiny 2:
- Play in the Guardian Games: Workout playlist and reach score thresholds. This step will complete automatically when the Competitive playlist becomes available – more on that below – so you might not even have to worry about this step.
- Guardian Games: Earn at least 50,000 points in competitive playlist Strike To get bronze points.
- Guardian Games: Earn at least 100,000 points in competitive playlist Strike To get silver points.
- Guardian Games: Earn at least 150,000 points in competitive playlist Strike To get gold points.
- Guardian Games: Earn at least 175,000 points in competitive playlist Strike To get Platinum points.
- Wait for the weekly reset for the next set of steps to unlock. Don’t forget to light all your torches to get rewards – and more for those below.
For steps two through five, you do not need to finish a Hit with a score that meets a certain threshold, and you can cross the threshold to complete multiple steps at once. For example, if you’re on step three and need Silver points and then get Platinum points in your next Guardian Games: Competitive Strike, you’ll advance to step six in one go.
Guardian Games Tutorial and Competitive playlists revealed
Need Destiny 2 Laurels for Contestant Cards? Here’s how
These playlists are a bit confusing because they are essentially the same and very similar to Nightfall Strikes – to play them you will find the event node on the Tower map screen. The Training and Competitive playlists include an Offensive set that’s the same all week, with a recommended Power level of 1550, and Champion enemies and a host of modifiers that make things even harder. Both playlists have matched and unmatched modes, meaning you can play with random Guardians or play alone.
As you play through both playlists and achieve high scores, you’ll also earn a Contender’s Boon buff that evolves based on the score threshold you meet – keep in mind that Gold is the highest Boon rating as there is no Platinum version. Blessings improve your ability reload rates and weapon damage, among other things, but they are only active in Guardian Games playlists and Vanguard Ops playlist. These Bonuses also only last until the next weekly reset, so you must earn them again for each week of Guardian Games 2022.
The biggest difference is that these playlists are available. The Workout playlist is available from the weekly reset on Tuesday to the daily reset on Friday, and the Competitive playlist is available from the Friday reset to the next weekly reset on the next Tuesday. Steps two through five of the Shoot & Score mission can only be completed in the Competitive playlist.
To get Platinum points, you need to complete the Strike quickly to ensure you focus on killing as many enemies as possible and avoid bleeding points. You should get plenty of medals to earn you extra points, provided you kill enemies quickly and in a variety of ways, but dying on the final boss and having to start over will waste a lot of time and increase your risk of reaching. The 20-minute mark where you’ll start bleeding points and gain less.
Destiny 2 Goal To Shoot mission rewards
Once you reach the score thresholds in the competitive playlist, you’ll want to head to the Tower to light your torches. Behind the large Guardian Games screen you will see two rows of white floating platforms. Shoot Jump over those on the right to ignite the score torches – the torches on the left are for the Medallion Battalion mission to place multiple medals. Remember to light the torches, as they can only be ignited when the Competitive playlist is active!
These torches will earn you a variety of items including a large amount of Glow, upgrade materials including Soaring Fragments, and more. They also all have a good chance of dropping the new Guardian Games 2022 The Title SMG. You’ll also receive a glowing Nightfall Strike icon on your Guardian’s right shoulder, colored to match your highest score threshold. If you need an extra incentive to keep replaying Educational and Competitive playlists for Guardian Games, you can also get Nightfall rewards including Exotic gear, Enhancement Prisms and Nightfall weapons by joining these playlists.
