‘Counter-Strike 2’: player finds EPIC easter egg on the Inferno map

At the end of August, more specifically on 8/31, Valve surprised fans by launching the new version of the iconic Inferno map, which arrived along with the long-awaited “Counter-Strike 2“.

As players explored the revamped setting, a Reddit user known as Highlygoofed made an exciting discovery: an Easter egg that pays homage to the legendary “Counter-Strike 1.6.”

Remembering the classic

The Easter egg was shared by Highlygoofed in the early hours of Friday (1/9) in a video posted on the platform. On that occasion, players were able to see a television located inside the church at bombsite B, which emitted the classic sounds of “Counter-Strike 1.6” over the speakers.

So far, Valve has not officially confirmed whether this discovery is in fact an Easter egg for “Counter-Strike 1.6”, but that hasn’t stopped the community from getting excited about the tribute.

This is not the first time that allusions to previous versions of “Counter-Strike” have been discovered in the franchise’s games. At the “CS:GO“, for example, players can find a computer running “Counter-Strike 1.1” in the carpet door leading to bombsite A, although this is a discovery that requires a considerable amount of luck.

‘Counter-Strike 2’ testing underway

The official launch of the highly anticipated “Counter-Strike 2” (CS2) is approaching, but many lucky players are already having the chance to test the new free update that promises to revolutionize the FPS.

According to information from Leetify, as of Monday (4/8), around 49.5% of CS:GO players had already received access to the limited CS2 test. This significant increase is due to the recent update that granted invitations to players with prime status and active classification.

Valve officially announced CS2 in March this year, sending initial invitations to a select group of players, professionals and personalities from the CS:GO scene.

Over time, more invitations were sent as the developer improved the game and implemented new features, such as the renewed version of the map. Hell.

In short, those lucky players who are already trying out CS2 are eager to discover all the changes and improvements that Valve has prepared for this new version of the classic first-person shooter.
