Could this be the interface for the long-awaited Xbox portable?

Video games are increasingly making their way into our car cabins. Tesla was one of the manufacturers that specifically pushed for gamers to take advantage of this, so it’s not all that surprising to see a major leak about the Xbox coming from the automotive industry!

Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac presents the interior of the autonomous electric car called Verne, designed like a driverless taxi, in a video published by the YouTube channel Top Gear. This vehicle will benefit from a i43 inch giant screenIt looks like it can be used to play. For a few seconds, we can actually see an unknown Xbox interface in the screen area. You can see it in the screenshot above or in the video at the end of the article (starting at 8:59).

Is it an interface suitable for a portable console?

It might be interesting to offer Xbox games to passengers in an autonomous taxi to pass the time on long journeys, but it’s the interface that really interests us here. It’s a far cry from what Microsoft could offer on consoles or PCs, with a system of large cards to display existing games. The UI looks particularly well-suited to a car screen, but could also work on a portable console.

And in fact, we have been talking about the future of the first portable Xbox console for some time now. Phil Spencer himself talked about this idea and recently analyzed the state of the portable console market. He then believed that progress would be made in terms of the software interface. It should be said that, in addition to the Steam Deck, the user interface is also a weak point for most devices of this type, based on a layer that is not always very well optimized for Windows. We noticed this, for example, in our MSI Claw test.

We can safely assume that the interface seen on the Bugatti Verne screen could also be used for a portable Xbox, potentially in a slightly revised version. In any case, it seems perfectly suited to a small screen and touch technology.
