Video games are one of the most popular forms of entertainment among Brazilians. Electronic games have already achieved incredible popularity, which is why we are seeing more and more highly produced games that aim to win over the public, especially in Brazil, as this is the third country with the largest number of gamers in the world, behind only the USA and China.
The gaming industry is particularly interesting because it has different forms of technology for playing games, which divide the public and cause discussions between fans of one or the other.
We already know the three pillars of gaming technology: consoles, PCs (computers) and cell phones. But which one is most used by gamers in Brazil?
Most used device by Brazilian gamers
A recent survey decided to find out which device is most used by Brazilian gamers in their leisure time, when they go to play. The results showed that the different gamer profiles in the country tend to play more on their cell phones, with games mobile.
Of those interviewed, 81% played using their cell phones, of which 91% opted for Android and only 19% for iPhone. Right behind mobilecomes the PC. These powerful machines are used by 61% of gamers.
And last but not least, but bordering on computers, are consoles, which are used by 57% of gamers. Among them, the least used are Nintendo consoles, occupying only 32%, with Xbox users just above, with 42%. The most used console, the PlayStation, is the choice of 68% of gamers.
Why is there this preference?
The results of the survey are not very surprising. Although the study does not explain the reasons, some factors and data that are generally known can give an idea of why Brazilians prefer to play on their cell phones.
Cell phones are the most present technological devices in our lives. In addition, many games mobile They are free and require little time, facilitating accessibility.
Computers, on the other hand, need to have more expensive components to be able to run games. This makes them very expensive in Brazil. Even so, we are already used to using these devices, which is why they remain second on the list.
Consoles, especially the latest generation ones, are not far from expensive, but the games are also very expensive. Furthermore, the gameplay is not impressive, since the same button system works for almost all games.
