Can you save Jackie in Cyberpunk 2077?
One of the first prologue missions, The Heist, sees V and Jackie break into a place to steal a mysterious object. Basically, the event that sets up and finishes the entire game opens the title screen and starts the story appropriately – it may be a few hours before you realize it’s the start if you’re exploring and hanging out in Night City.
While most things go smoothly, things clearly don’t look good when things go wrong, as Jackie takes the bullet and helps you fight your way to freedom. You’ll eventually reach the car you started your mission in, and Jackie dies in the car as you both escape.
The short and easy answer is no, whether you can save Jackie in Cyberpunk 2077. Excuse me. Jackie’s fate is tied to the story and there is nothing you can do about it. Whether there are options for how you play the mission, or the decisions and dialogues you choose, the outcome of Jackie’s fate does not change. If you send Jackie’s body back home, many later events unfold upon this tragic event, and it’s a vital part of the plot for the first few hours after it happens. (However, if you send their bodies to Victor, that would more or less be the end of him.)
So, as much as we hate to say it, Jackie’s gone and there’s no combination of events or choices that will change that.
