Over the years, video games have gained immense popularity. This is mainly due to technological innovation, which increases the quality of experience for players.
Along with fame, internet accessibility and connectivity between gamers have allowed the creation of international competitions and award-winning electronic gaming championships.
One of the biggest and most attractive games responsible for major competitions is the “Call of Duty” franchise. Activision’s franchise is popular among shooter game lovers, and its 2020 release, “Call of Duty: Warzone,” has already won worldwide competitions and is going into the second edition of the World Series of Warzone championship, which now expands the participating audience.
Brazil’s first time in the World Series of Warzone
The second year of the competition, which will take place in London, England, will feature competitors from different countries that were not previously included. Countries from Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America will be able to participate; among them is Brazil, one of the largest countries in gaming competitions worldwide.
The selection for the WSOW Global Final phase, which will be broadcast live and has a prize pool of up to US$600,000 (around R$2.86 million at the current exchange rate), will take place through regional tournaments in each country.
How will the tournaments take place in Brazil?
From June 22nd to last Monday (June 26th), Brazilian players entered the WSOW Trios list. The matches computed for the final score will only be accepted if they are held during the Competition Window.
The 45 trios that obtain the best scores, counting the losses in the game, will advance to the WSOW Regional Final in Brazil, along with five other invited teams. Thus, all will participate, on July 9, in half a dozen matches, of which only two trios will qualify for the Global Final.
WSOW Global Finals and Eligibility
The final stage of the competition will take place in London, in person, on September 16th of this year. Thus, at the Copper Box Arena, the competing trios from all over the world will face each other to compete for US$ 600 thousand (around R$ 2.38 million at the current conversion rate) in prizes in the game.
Additionally, the top 150 finishers compete individually for US$100,000 (around R$477,000) in cash.
The game is available and selects players from Xbox, PlayStation or Battle.net platforms, and with their standard peripherals, competitors in the open phase of the tournament must broadcast the match live on Twitch, YouTube or Facebook.
