There are currently 16 Starfield features to choose from. You can only have three of them, and each one gives you a permanent kind of buff, usually with a downside to consider or a specific use to offset. For example, the Neon Street Rat feature gives you better quest rewards, but only in Neon city. Intermittent, on the other hand, gives you more health in space, but less on the surface of a planet.
The features are different from the basic Starfield skills that you unlock and level up or get when you choose a Starfield background and starting skills. They seem to be a permanent selection that you currently run throughout the game. While it’s a respect skill that hasn’t appeared yet, it will allow you to change them later. No matter how the system works, Starfield features will have a significant and special impact on your adventure, so let’s take a look at what we know. star field, what options are available and what the Features do.
All the Starfield features we know so far
There are sixteen separate Starfield features that we know of right now, and more details have surfaced for a few in particular. To start, here is the full list of Starfield features we know of right now:

Clearly, this is a pretty comprehensive personal history and effects package, if not more to add to the list later. Most make you think you’ve been doing your own thing for a while before going into space, unless the game doesn’t seem to be based on a core personality or origins before you start. The UI revealed in the images will be interesting to see that there are even more options available so more possibilities to play with and what the full mix of pros and cons will let you do.
For example, will you be able to mix and match items while choosing the three of you to balance any negatives? Or will these really allow you to mix a max build around some hyper-specific playstyle? Not to mention that there are some that are mutually exclusive, given most of what we’ve seen is a mix of good and bad. But players are nothing if they’re not creative, so if there are any exploits to be found, rest assured we’ll hear about it a few hours after launch.
We’ve listed the current effects of all the Starfield features we’ve seen below in more detail. Each feature effectively offers positive and negative effects and is chosen at the time of character creation and obviously has lasting effects to tweak throughout the entire game.
Players have to pick three at this point, but it’s yet to be announced whether there will be a chance to win more during the game (which seems likely, given that these features have been in previous Bethesda games). We’ll be sure to expand this as more details emerge and launch day approaches!
