Use these Spider-Man Remastered tips to help you deal with all the city swaying, web-swinging, and crime-fighting you’ll be tackling as the friendly neighborhood hero. Spider-Man Remastered lets you play as the iconic webhead with a host of familiar and new abilities to battle the villains of Manhattan. As always, with great power comes great responsibility – but sometimes that power can be a bit disguised by button mapping, vague instructions, or your own forgetfulness. With these Spider-Man Remastered tips, you’ll have everything you need to know about Spider-Man’s various powers and how to best use them.
1. Make combat easier by perfecting evasion
One of the first Skills you need to unlock is Perfect Dodge in the Defender skill tree, which allows you to purchase the Dodge Window skill. Perfect Dodge, like Spider sense turning blue, means that when you counter perfectly, the Spider automatically weaves a web on the enemy it has just dodged its attack. The Dodge Window, on the other hand, gives you a slightly longer timing window to perfectly dodge an attack. I cannot overstate how important it is to acquire these two abilities as soon as possible, as they are a boon for crowd control. The Last Stand skill that follows the Dodge Window is also extremely useful, as it gives you a moment of slow motion to help you avoid a potentially fatal blow.
2. Don’t mash too much while fighting
There are many different types of enemies and certain types can only be defeated in certain ways, so try not to get caught in that moment and always just hit with the hammer. Pick up the Air Launcher (keep square) for baton enemies, Dodge Under for shields (square, then circle) and collect nets before attacking. Using the right moves at the right time is vital to getting a situation under control.
3. Always kill the armed men first
When fighting on the streets of New York, you’ll want to kill armed enemies as soon as possible, because dodging bullets when fighting large groups is at least inconvenient. While you can punch them, there are also skills that will make the job easier. For example, tapping the Triangle for a Web Attack will direct you to a targeted enemy, which is useful for quickly getting to a threat. While more useful, the Pistol and Baton Yank and its high-powered cousin, the Rifle, Shield, and Launcher Yank skills will allow you to pull weapons out of people’s hands. While Yank and Throw let you throw things at people as an attack.
4. Stick a mine on one person to glue two people together
Proceed a little further in Spider-Man’s main storyline and you’ll unlock Trip Mines that, when triggered, throw a web of webs and then bind enemies to walls. But walls, floors and ceilings aren’t the only things you can glue them to. Oh no. They also cling to enemies, which means you can take two enemies off the battlefield at the same time when things get rough. There is even a reward called “Hug It Out” for those who do it 10 times.
5. Hone your skills to earn rewards in bases
Worldwide bases for various crime groups will emerge, with Fisk being the first and stopping various crimes. As Spider-Man, it’s your responsibility to subdue them. However, instead of rushing and introducing their faces to your networks, take the time to look at the bonus challenges for each. Things like sneaking down three snipers or perfectly dodging 10 attacks can happen. Completing these challenges will not only get you bonus XP and extra coins, but they’re also a great way to practice any moves you’re having trouble with.
6. Drop at the bottom of the swing for speed and the top for height
It won’t take long to grasp Spider-Man’s swing, but there are a few ways to make sure you get the most out of it. If you want to go as fast as possible, such as when chasing a bad guy and/or car, drop R2 when you’re closest to the ground, at the bottom of your arc. Your momentum will be maintained as a forward velocity rather than an upward swing and a share faster than you can do with Web Zips alone. Or if you need to sharpen, drop Spidey on top of a swing to launch him into the air.
7. If you can’t find a specific resource type, you probably haven’t reached it yet in the story.
Everyone gets a little impatient sometimes, and it’s fair to say that in open world games, players get used to having almost every resource available when they’re released to the world. But in Spider-Man, you’ll need to keep hooking up with the main story to unlock all six resources (base, milestone, research, crime, backpack, and challenge). You’ll get through about a quarter of the story before they’re all unlocked, so be patient.
8. Electric Punch ability, great for crowd control
As the game progresses, you’ll encounter more and more types of enemies that can make dealing with them even more tricky. Unlock the Electrically Insulated Suit and get the Electric Fist ability, which is a boon for crowd control. While your team’s power is active, you can click on either stick to activate electric punches that chain shocks between enemies and stun entire groups in a few hits. If you detonate it at the right time, you can drastically shock the entire gang and really turn the tide of battle.
9. Plan a strategy and use your Gadgets before you Jump
As the game progresses, you’ll unlock more gadgets to use in a fight, and thinking about how to use them before you punch can make a big difference. Spider investigates the fight he’s about to wager and initiates several encounters high above. While this usually gives you a few chances to sneak up on enemies, it also gives you a chance to strategize – do you see a spot where the enemies will pass? Place a trip mine. Big group together? Throw a web bomb to neutralize them while attacking. Keep looking for opportunities during the fight. If you’re on a roof, a well-placed concussion blast can knock down a bad guy for an insta-kill, for example. Or if they clump together, an Electric Net can stun several opponents. Basically, let the gadgets do as much work as they can and save you the effort.
10. Check in-game benchmarks for extra XP
PlayStation may have its own reward system, but Spider-Man didn’t let that stop him from including his own in-game achievements, called ‘benchmarks’. There, the game tracks things like how far and fast you swing, how many enemies you’ve built into a wall. You should be mindful of this as well, as it’s a great way to give yourself some XP while walking around New York City.
11. Keep checking newspaper dispensers against headlines
One of the collectibles in the game is to get all 28 Daily Bugle headlines. These open at certain points in the main story and reflect the big event that just happened – you know, like real newspapers. All you have to do is go to one of the bright red newspaper dispensers on the street, press the triangle and a front page will open on the screen. Close it with a circle and you’ll see a counter in the upper left corner of the screen that keeps track of how many of the 28 titles you’ve found.
Surprisingly, there’s also a section in your inventory’s ‘Collections’ tab called ‘Newspapers’ that automatically updates with the latest headline even if you don’t buy it from a distributor. It’s a good idea to check the newspaper dispensers frequently while marking all the headlines, but even if you neglect this for a long time, by activating the newspaper dispensers you will still be able to collect the Daily Bugle headlines until they are given to you. a new title.
12. You can travel fast using the subways
Despite being the fastest, going to the map isn’t the only way to fast travel in Marvel’s Spider-Man. If you want to dive a little further into the game, go to one of the subway entrances and go down the steps to automatically bring up the fast travel menu. You won’t get anything special for traveling this way, but it’s a small detail worth knowing about.
