These Sniper Elite 5 tips will help in the latest installment of the sniper series featuring more weapons, more stealth kills, and more exploding body parts than you can swing an M1917 Enfield rifle. That means there’s a lot to consider when spotting enemies, camping in tall grass, uncovering vital information from WWII, and/or dangling dangerously from the third-floor window of a Nazi-occupied castle in central France. income. 1. Mix and match stealth and action as needed
They say variety is the spice of life, and after suffering many times over my own stubbornness in Sniper Elite 5, I couldn’t accept the age-old adage any longer. With multiple paths to success (and failure) and facing the smartest AI the series has ever seen, flexibility is key in Sniper Elite 5. You may see yourself as an all-around stealth superior, but often the missions here will require a fluid approach that mixes instant ghost kills with firearms. Don’t be afraid to mix up your approach and plan ahead whenever possible – you never know when things will go bad despite your best intentions. Mixing up your offense is especially important when faced with an unpredictable Axis Invasion, a new game mode that lets players invade your campaign.
2. Stay in your place and wait for the invading players to come to you
When other players inevitably invade your campaign, it’s best to wait for the unexpected. That’s terrible advice, isn’t it? In our experience, however, player invasions through Sniper Elite 5’s new Axis Invasion mode are so unpredictable that it’s hard to give definitive clues to success on the opposing side. To give yourself the best chance of survival, we recommend that you stay as you were when you realized you were invaded. If the invader is familiar with the order of the mission, pressing it will make it easier to identify your location; Their sole purpose here is to seek out and kill you. Invading players are on the same side as enemy NPCs, so finding a quiet place away from the action is preferable. Be sure to also hide the bodies of dead NPCs to scavenge the invader, and consider booby-trapping any nearby locator phones used by the invader to track your movements. And as above, be prepared to give up on the best plans if it means saving your skin. Good luck!
3. Use the environment to your advantage
Sniper Elite 5 has the largest, most exploreable, and most importantly, passable maps in the series – so use them to your advantage! In practice, this could see you using cover to dodge a patrolling soldier. A watchtower can see you shooting at the dazzling bulb of the spotlight. He can see the army crawling in the prone position through the tall grass of a wheat field. He may see that you are using the Nazis’ bunkers against them as a way of remaining hidden and invisible. It may even see you scale a wall or elevated structure through vines, exposed drywall, and rainwater drain pipes, among less traditional methods.
4. Become familiar with traps and distractions to move enemies
Like many stealth games, shooting unsuspecting enemies to their death is not only a convenient way to progress, it can also be a lot of fun. This tactic is especially useful when trying to dodge patrolling enemy soldiers and often requires the player’s ingenuity and ingenuity. The main character, Karl Fairburne, is equipped as standard with a whistle that can be used to knock out enemies. Bottles do the same with the obvious bonus of being throwable. A fused lure is, in essence, a fireworks-wrapped bottle that, when fired, provides a continuous sound distribution; Pressure mines, TNT, and Schu-mines all have timed explosive options if you need to hurry. Fold in environmental distractions like sound masks, which can be used to divert attention or mask the sound of noisy bullets, and there’s a lot to experiment with as you guide enemies down the deadly garden path.
5. Use suppressed ammo whenever possible
This may seem too easy, but using silencers and suppressed ammo whenever possible can be the difference between life and death. Be very careful with pre-mission reloads, especially before subsequent game missions, as standard ammo can often be supplemented with silent hardware or completely replaced. Also, be smart about the weapons you give in any situation. I very often found myself reaching for my rifle at close range when a pistol or semi-automatic machine gun would have been a better option when equipped with a silencer. Again, this may seem obvious, but firing a sniper rifle indoors will always be higher than doing this outdoors (I’m talking about unfortunate experience here), so make sure you pick the right tool for the job every time.
6. Scavenge and hide corpses to avoid raising alarms
Another obvious one when said aloud, but leaving corpses strewn about is a surefire way to put your still-living Nazi enemies on red alert. As you can imagine, enemies realize that their friend has been shot to death – or, in more brutal cases, their testicles destroyed – so you’d better hide the evidence. After you drop any bad guys, lift them onto your shoulders and place their hardened bodies out of sight (or toss, if you’re feeling inclined). Tall grass and mountain tops to choppy waters are among my favorite impromptu burial sites, but anything works as long as they’re not rediscovered. Before doing all that, make sure you loot every corpse for ammo, health supplies, and essentials – you never know what goodies you might find.
7. Plan your escape before you have to make it
This is basically tied to numbers 1 and 3 on this list and is something you should always be careful with. Sniper Elite 5’s sandbox maps are the largest the series has ever seen; this means that there are usually several ways to go about which goal you want to achieve. Often times, it’s possible to evade enemy attacks from multiple directions, so before you dig too deep, it makes sense to have an idea of where you plan to run if things go wrong. For example, after uncovering top-secret information deep inside a Nazi-occupied mansion during a mission, I tried and failed to escape through the front door several times. Instead, I climbed to the building’s attic, jumped through a skylight, and slid down a drain pipe into the property’s gardens.
8. Search unorthodox to find information, collectibles, resources and more
With the largest maps in the series coming even more nooks and crannies worth exploring. In Sniper Elite 5, going off the beaten path can be a great way to uncover new information regarding side quests, collectibles to help you unlock end-of-mission achievements and trophies, and most importantly, caches of ammo and health supplies. to get you up and running again when the chips fall. The Sniper Elite 5’s transition to next-gen hardware means that the warzone swept away in every sun or storm is a pleasure not only to look at, but to explore and loot.
9. Unlock shortcuts by exploring to make it easier to pass levels
The benefits of scouting in Sniper Elite 5 aren’t limited to obtaining tangible goods, either. While you’ll always start each mission at a default, preset infiltration point, each map has two or more entrance gates that can only be opened by exploring the wilderness. These always bring you closer to the action, so if you find yourself struggling during any mission, unlocking them gives you the option to start again with a full boost of ammo and supplies, and fewer enemies between you and your target. For example, on a mission, doing this cuts through a long, exposed black gorge that has literally been missed by dozens of snipers, placing you just behind the mission’s first target location. Of course you have to look for that entry point first, but doing that and then resetting it makes the task much easier from now on.
10. Invade other players’ games to explore levels undisturbed by enemies
One of the highlights of Sniper Elite 5 is the new Axis Invasion mode, which lets players enter other peoples’ single-player and co-op campaigns with a taste for blood. As outlined above, defending against these random attacks can be a daunting process, but starting them out as the elusive elite German shooter Sniper Jager is a lot of fun. Playing for the other side means that otherwise hostile NPCs will now leave you alone, thus making exploration much easier. Use your time as an invader to get used to the less challenging paths of each map – or if you fall into a later mission sandbox, become completely familiar with a whole new level you haven’t reached in your own campaign yet. Conversely, if you’ve already completed the level you dropped at, use your knowledge of the setting and the order of missions to get your target drop.
