West Ham defender Kurt Zouma and his brother Yoan have been charged under the Animal Welfare Act following an RSPCA investigation into last month’s cat kicking incident.
In a video posted by The Sun, Zouma can be seen picking up the family pet in the kitchen before kicking it off the floor. The video was originally posted on Snapchat by Zouma’s brother Yoan. The West Ham defender has apologized for his actions that resulted in his two weeks’ pay being fined and his two cats being taken care of.
Kurt Zouma apologized and said: “I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to everyone who was disturbed by the video. I can assure everyone that both our cats are doing fine and healthy.
“They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behavior was an isolated incident that would never happen again.”
Now, British animal rights group RSPCA has announced its intentions to impeach West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma on Wednesday after a controversial video emerged last month.
“Following a full and thorough investigation, we have initiated the process of filing a lawsuit against Kurt Zouma and Yoan Zouma under the Animal Welfare Act.” The RSPCA explained in a statement released Wednesday.
“The two cats continue to be cared for by the RSPCA. We will be able to release more information once the court date is confirmed.”
