Real Madrid fullback Marcelo bid farewell to Los Blancos today after a 16-year tenure at the club. The ceremony was attended by numerous Real Madrid players and manager Carlo Ancelotti, who were seen in tears following the Brazilian’s departure from Santiano Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti has managed Real Madrid twice in his career, from 2013 to 2015 and from 2021 to date. This time, Marcelo, who won the Champions League twice at the club, is in charge of the team. Former Real Madrid player Raul, who was among the participants, was also seen crying after Marcelo left the club.

Marcelo joined real Madrid For just €6 million in 2007. He made 546 appearances for the club with 38 goals and 103 assists. Having won 25 trophies during this period, Marcelo left the club as the most decorated player ever.

Together with Carlo Ancelotti and Marcelo, he won 2 Champions League titles, 1 Club World Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 King’s Cup and 1 La Liga title. Although Marcelo didn’t get much of a chance to play under Carlo Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu, the two have always shared a special relationship.

Marcelo has yet to reveal his future plans. However, the player has confirmed that his playing days are not over and will now be looking for a new club. Carlo Ancelotti, on the other hand, will continue his way in Real Madrid after winning La Liga and the Champions League this season.
