Carragher claimed he wanted Ten Hag to make some “bold moves” and release big names like Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba.
“I think it’s a good decision, I think it’s a brave decision. The easy choice would be Pochettino because he has been in the Premier League before. But they went for a manager not in the Premier League‘ said Carragher.
“I also think that United need to make bold decisions, including the players. Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo have to go.”the Liverpool legend added.
Carragher has hinted that Ten Hag could make a big impact at Manchester United as he is “new and fresh” in the Premier League, unlike Mauricio Pochettino, who previously managed Tottenham Hotspurs.
“So by that I mean he’s not being managed at a big club and is seen as a promising coach, ‘new, fresh’ and not Pochettino, he’s older than Pochettino, which some people don’t seem to know”, Finished Carragher.
Eric Ten Hag is about to become Manchester United’s fourth manager in the past six years.
Nevertheless Manchester United They’ve had great managers like Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick in the recent past, they’ve only won three titles in the last six years. Interestingly, the Red Devils failed to secure any titles under Ole and Rangnick. As a result, Ten Hag’s job will be tough as he will take over a team as the fourth coach in the last six years and have never seen a silver team in the last five seasons.
Eric Ten Hag is a talented coach who had an excellent time at Ajax and led them to the semi-finals of the Champions League. He impressed Manchester United officials with his skills and achievements at Ajax. Carragher thinks Eric will be the new head coach with fresh minds and Manchester United needs a freshen up from what they have.
