In a recent press conference, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admitted his love for Benfica’s “extremely handsome” Darwin Nunez. With his ability to play both on the left wing and centre, Nunez is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe and has certainly caught the attention of the Liverpool boss after his team’s quarter-final first leg defeat. “An extremely handsome boy, huh?” Klopp joked at the Champions League press conference. “He’s also a good player. He’s really good, really good. Of course I knew beforehand, but Ibrahima played very well in front of me in his tough fights with Konate.”
Klopp also praised Nunez’s physical strength, predicting the 22-year-old striker has a “big career” ahead of him.
“He was physically strong, he was fast, he was calm when he finished. Good, really good. I always say in these situations, if he’s healthy, he has a great career ahead of him.”the German coach added.

Speaking to the press before the match, Klopp also acknowledged that his defense will face the best striker in Uruguayan player form.

While Klopp was full of praise for the 22-year-old, Benfica was eager to acknowledge the strength of his team and called in several other notables for praise, including some former Premier League players. However, he later revealed that Liverpool is not looking forward to buying the Uruguayan sensation at the moment. Nunez is currently linked to Manchester United as they are trying to find a replacement for Edison Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo.
