Former FIFA official Jack Warner, who has been banned from football for life, robbed England of the chance to host the 2018 World Cup and is now accused of taking a $5m ‘bribe’ from Russia to give them a chance in 2018. He apologized to both Prince William and David Beckham for misleading them in voting for the 2018 World Cup host nation.
Jack Warner is a FIFA vice president and is currently fighting extradition to the United States on 29 fraud, corruption and money laundering charges brought against him. A man who once lived a rich and lavish life and is known as one of the true power brokers of world football now lives in a small area on the island of Trinidad.
He was FIFA’s vice president for nearly three decades and is a very famous presence in football today. He’s sat on presidents, prime ministers and princes and traveled in first class seats and stayed in five star hotels, but now he’s lost everything as corruption allegations surfaced that barred him from football.

What did Jack Warner say about Britain’s apology to David Beckham and Prince William?
Warner talked about his meeting with Prince William: “I never said [to him] He said I would vote for them. Of course I said I’d think seriously. Even when the English team came here [to Trinidad] and Beckham came and gave coaching courses etc., they asked me to make a statement from CONCACAF that Jack Warner now supports the UK offer. I did not do“
Added, “I have not publicly endorsed anything. The point where I failed was I had to tell England very early what my intentions were. I did not do that, and so they were led to believe that I supported them.” He also talked about his relationship with the Queen of England: “I met the queen, I met her husband. The Queen gave me her plane to go to Ireland. England treated me very well.”
