Features of FIFA World Cup 2022

FIFA has released a roster of 36 referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 video assistant referees for the event on 19 May 2022. FIFA has appointed two officials each from Argentina, Brazil, England and France to the 36 referees. At a major men’s event, women will officiate for the first time.
After the event in South Korea and Japan in 2002, this will be the second World Cup held entirely in Asia and the first ever in the Arab world.
