It’s no secret that Google now wants to integrate Gemini AI into all its services. It must be said that this can be useful in many ways, but YouTube Music users will not say otherwise. In fact, Google is currently working on Gemini extensions tied to its various apps, and Youtube Music is also part of that list.
In other words, by connecting your Google account to the two services, you can ask Gemini to create the playlist of your dreams or have YouTube Music help you discover a new genre of music. The process is not very complicated, but it still requires some preparation for it to work correctly.
Gemini will make you the best music lover
In fact, you will first need to make sure that you are connected to the same Google account in both applications. In such a case, you will need to enable the YouTube Music extension on Gemini, whether it is the web or mobile version. However, keep in mind that if you want to take advantage of the extension on PC, you will need to use the Chrome browser.
Then ask Gemini to perform a search on YouTube Music or perform a specific task. For example, start your order with: “On YouTube Music…”. From now on, your only limit will be your imagination. Here are some examples of prompts you can test:
- Create a playlist of the hottest songs of the moment on YouTube Music.
- I would like to listen to more jazz. Create a selection of the genre’s best songs on YouTube Music.
- Play my favorite songs on YouTube Music.
- Play a random song from my favorite artists on YouTube Music.
Note that the extension in question is not yet publicly available. However, Google has published a support page explaining how it works, which suggests it won’t take long to roll out.
