Switching music streaming services is quite an adventure. Where this question does not arise for SVOD platforms whose catalogs are different from each other, Spotify, Deezer and other Apple Music offer a relatively similar artist catalogue. But often we want to find our favorite playlists and songs when we switch from one to another. Unfortunately, to date, none of them offer a simple and effective transfer service.
However, Apple Music may be the first to do this. In any case, this is what the latest beta version of the app on Android suggests. A user on Reddit shared a screenshot of his app, which now shows a new popup inviting him to “transfer his music from another service.” “Add your music and playlists created on another streaming service to your Apple Music library”, then specifies the application.
Apple Music will let you stream music from Spotify and Deezer
Everything indicates that this feature was developed in partnership with SongShift, a third-party tool well-known to music lovers that allows you to transfer your music library from one platform to another. The difference here is that it seems possible to perform this transfer directly through Apple Music without having to open any web browser and connect to different services.
Therefore, we think it will be necessary to connect to your chosen streaming service in order for Apple Music to detect and import all the items you have selected. For now, the functionality is still in beta and is only available on the Android version of the app. However, both versions, which offer the same features in general, are expected to come to iPhone.
