‘Transformers’ has its final battle in the last chapter of the comic

While “Transformers” is based on a children’s toy line, recent comic book history shows there’s room for more restricted approaches to robot battles. “Transformers: Last Bot Standing” intends to tell the “last” story of the “Transformers”.

“Transformers” comics appeared in 1984, and then Hasbro decided to import toys from the Japanese Microman and Diaclone lines.. Later, the company took the initiative to hire Marvel Comics to create a storyline explaining the toys.

This is how the world of robots/cars as we know it came into being, giving rise to a franchise that has seen countless lines of action figures, animated series and films released throughout its almost four decades of history. Recently, Hasbro announced that it will pull its properties from IDW, which will lose the license at the end of 2022.

The last story

“Transformers: Last Bot Standing” is intended to be the “last” Transformers story, which is somewhat fitting, as it will be one of the last Transformers comics published by IDW. Written by Nick Roche and with art by Roche and EJ Su, “Last Bot Standing” is set in the distant future.

Autobots and Decepticons were wiped out in a cataclysmic war, leaving few left. transformers living beings who now roam the universe. The former leader Autobot Rodimus Prime hid on the planet Donnokta frontier world on the brink of industrialization.

The setback begins when several surviving Cybertronians come up with sinister schemes to modify the inhabitants of Donnokt into biofuel, using them to replenish their dwindling energy sources.

Seeking to prevent Donnokt’s destruction, Rodimus decides to come out of hiding to protect Shib and his people from fighting against his own kind.

Contrary to what we are used to seeing as blows resulting in blood and guts, we have oil, gears and other technological debris flying in all directions.
