‘Toy Story’ anime version: artist recreates Pixar characters in a unique way

In recent weeks, the fan scene has been anime and manga, both for male audiences (otakus) and female audiences (otomes), is extremely busy with the latest adaptations and news about productions about to be completed.

This includes a diverse catalogue of Netflixpacked with new features, including exciting updates to the ‘Attack on Titan’ universe.

It is undeniable that Japanese pop culture has exerted a significant hold over the imagination of many people for years, and 2023 will be no different.

Some artists, realizing the richness that pop culture, both Western and Eastern, has to offer, did not hesitate to combine the best of both.

An example of this is the artist Mato, who posted on his Pixiv account a work of art reimagining the famous animation franchise ‘Toy Story’ in the anime’s characteristic style.

The artwork features a creative interpretation of the characters, including Sheriff Woody (voiced by Tim Allen), Buzz Lightyear (played by Tom Hanks), Jessie (voiced by Joan Cusack) and even an adapted version of Jessie’s iconic cowgirl horse Bullseye, now personified as a human.
