Bad news for streaming fans: the service Lionsgate+formerly known as Starzplay, is preparing to say goodbye to the Brazilian market and all Latin American countries by the end of 2023.
In an official statement, the platform announced the final deadline for subscribers to enjoy its exclusive content. Understand when the services will end below.
A sudden goodbye
Subscribers are invited to enjoy their favorite series and films on the platform until December 11, 2023 or, alternatively, through Prime Video until February 9, 2024.
This announcement, made under the hashtag #LionsgatePlus, marks the end of an era for fans of the streaming service.

With a diverse slate, Lionsgate+ offers a variety of notable content, including standout series such as the explosive ‘Power’ Universe, produced by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson; the dark comedy ‘Shining Vale’, starring Courteney Cox; and ‘Gaslit’, a take on the Watergate scandal in the United States. United Statesstarring Oscar winners Julia Roberts and Sean Penn.
Other highlights included original series such as ‘Express,’ centered on a victim of express kidnapping, and ‘Señorita 89,’ set in the dark glamour of 1980s Mexico.
Plus, the groundbreaking period drama ‘The Great’ starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, and a wide range of library of blockbuster films were part of the service’s catalog.
Despite the expansion plans originally established by the studio, the decision to withdraw the streaming service from the Latin American market was confirmed.
The press office stated that the partner companies are looking for new platforms to host Lionsgate+ series in Brazil.
However, so far there is no defined future for this content after the service ends, leaving subscribers and fans of the series to speculate about the fate of these productions after the platform leaves.
