THE Supermanone of the greatest symbols of comics, has one of the best friendships of the heroes built with Batman. The hero of Gotham, even without wanting to admit it, has always respected the Man of Steel a lot. It is undeniable that DC always has many heroes who do not fit in or do not join the Justice League. However, it is clear that they are always available to help others.
Not limited to just the Justice League or the Justice Society of DC, but being on teams like Birds of Prey, Renegades and Titans are part of the comics and, in this, most of the members have always respected each other. However, the most relevant hero in the DC universe, Superman, has already admitted that he respects another teammate much more than he respects Batman.
Superman was a longtime founding member of the Justice League and has met dozens of superheroes. The best characters he has met have often been associated with Wonder Woman or Batman. Likewise, Batman seems to respect Superman more than any other superhero he has met.
In this sense, Batman even ended up choosing Superman to be his best man when he married Catwoman, choosing him over Dick Grayson. Even though Batman and Nightwing have their differences, it’s still impressive to think that Bruce chooses Clark as a witness over his son, which shows how much Batman respects Clark.
Unfortunately, this level of respect can differ from one to another, as Green Lantern is much more respected than Batman. In the issue “Green Lantern 64”, readers see Hal Jordan in the middle of collecting the Green Lantern rings he needs when he is confronted by Superman. Hal was distraught after losing Coast City, with the death of all the individuals in the city. This left him with a lot of hatred, turning him almost into a villain.
When trying to debate with him, Superman says:
“Why, Hal? Tell me why. You were always the best of us. The truest.”
Superman makes a surprising statement, as Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash are the warriors he has known the longest and who most resemble him. Although Hal did all of these things, he was a major hero in the DC universe and is considered the greatest of the Green Lanterns.
Ultimately, Guardian Ganthet told Hal that he was the best at wielding the ring, but Superman, seeing his friend turn into a villain, was impressed. While Bruce may be Clark’s best friend, the Man of Steel has even more respect for Hal Jordan, who has the most powerful weapon in the world.
