‘Star Wars’ comic follows the saga’s pattern with a familiar plot

“Star Wars” is one of the biggest franchises in cinema, having been launched in 1977, without much pretension, almost immediately becoming a landmark in the history of cinema.

From its beginnings, “Star Wars” is a story that talks mainly about family and its bonds. Including, containing one of the plot twists most memorable in cinema, with the famous scene in which Darth Vader reveals to Luke: “I am your father”.

Therefore, over the years, family ties have continued to be one of the elements in the franchise’s plots. And it is not today that this element will cease to be in the stories, as readers were able to discover in the editions of “The High Republic”.

In the second volume of “The High Republic”, we see the events of the Battle of Jedha, when the local inhabitants are revolting against the followers of the Force. Throughout the editions, we discover that the revolt is being influenced by the Open Hand Path group.

A family relationship can be the plot from ‘The High Republic’?

This group’s main objective is to prevent people from using force in a way that trivializes it. This is where their paths begin to cross, as the figure who leads the group is known as the Mother, but her real name is Elecia Zeveron.

Coincidentally or not, the Jedi Knight we follow in the plot is Oliviah Zeveron. Although the connection is very clear, having the same surname does not always indicate that they are from the same family.

However, to increase the belief that both characters are related, in issue #5 of “Star Wars: The High Republic”, we see Oliviah running through the streets of Jedha, with the thought that something very strong is calling her.

It is then that the Jedi Knight crosses eyes with Elecia and immediately has a vision of a creation extremely similar to her lifting objects with the Force.

Therefore, it is clear that the possible nickname Mother is not just any nickname. Therefore, it may be the character’s true motivation for revolting against the Jedi, after all, this is a common practice. This is because the knights take children with a connection to the Force from their parents, so that they can train them as Jedi Knights.

This discovery brings greater depth to the revolt of the Open Hand Path, which perhaps even contains more parents who had their children taken away by followers of the Force.

However, the information that Oliviah was taken from her family and even her relationship with Elecia are just assumptions. The story may have other conclusions about the ties they have and the reason for their separation. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to “Star Wars: The High Republic”.
