Even Spider-Man’s former arch-enemy recognized his great intelligence, as now our beloved Peter Parker has become the owner of one of the biggest companies presented in comics: Oscorp!
The company is a multi-billion dollar corporation based in the Oscorp Tower in Manhattan, New York City, and operates in the fields of experimental science, military research, and interspecies genetics.
But how did Spider-Man become one of the owners of this company? We’ll tell you all about it below!
Norman Osborn is no longer a villain
Norman is one of the characters created by Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man #14.” There, he possessed supreme insanity as the chemically induced Green Goblin, and no one has disrupted our favorite hero’s life more than he has.
In volume #50 of the comics, things are very different. In recent events, Norman Osborn has been absolved by the Sin-Eater and has stopped being the Green Goblin. His redemption has been a long process, and we have followed his great quest to become someone better.
One of his decisions, in fact, involves Peter. His recent kindness made him give the hero total freedom in his company. And Norman made a point of praising Spider-Man, stating that his intelligence was so great that it would be an honor to have him at Oscorp.
Unexpectedly, the former villain seems determined to make peace with Spider-Man and, therefore, has now become the “Golden Goblin”.
The news came out in issue #4 of Golden Goblin by Christopher Cantwell, Lan Medina and Rafaela Pimentel.
Norman’s collection was created precisely to demonstrate his attempts at redemption and will be something short, demonstrating all the emotional consequences and new choices that the former villain needs to make and think about.
In short, it is not yet known how Peter Parker will handle this leadership position, but we will certainly find out soon!
