The launch of Secret Invasion is fast approaching. In less than a week, or rather, on June 21, the next big Marvel series will air on Disney+. As is tradition, the press has already captured the first episodes before writing the review. While the trailers have reassured many fans so far, the final product seems to have disappointed a few.
Indeed, on Rotten Tomatoes, the series scores a combined score of 69%. But keep in mind that this is the critics’ rating and is regularly lower than the public’s rating. Still, Secret Invasion frankly doesn’t make everyone agree. On the one hand, many highlight the qualities of the series, and sometimes do not hesitate to describe it as a series. “The greatest Marvel project of all time”.
Secret Invasion doesn’t appeal to (all) critics
A few critics specifically point to the maturity of the series, or the outstanding performance of Samuel L. Jackson, the iconic Nick Fury since the inception of the MCU fifteen years ago. But for others, the series fails. On our side, Moyens I/O’s editorial team also had access to the first episodes of the series. Conversely, Marvel’s proposal surprised us. Secret Invasion is much more serious and shows higher interests and ambitions than series like Miss Hulk or Falcon & the Winter Soldier. Action fans will criticize him for too much downtime, but he gets some improvement in the plot, especially with a big change at the end of episode 1. What gives a good boost to the MCU.
